L.A based, Friskie Business, has been pushing the Funk sound for almost two decades now, so when you come across a mix from him, you know the tracks he’s chosen are gonna be on another level. This is the case with his ‘Funk Soul Variety Hour‘mix. The mix is a midtempo based one, but it’s not all about all guns blazing bangers. The selected one hour of tunes have been geared towards an afterparty vibe, when it’s time to rest those weary feet and take stock of what just went down at the crazy party beforehand.

The music takes off on a real chilled note and builds along the way and although there is the odd heavy hitting tune from halfway onwards, it’s still a very cool mix to listen to and one that takes you on a journey through re-imagined classic funk, soul, hip-hop and beyond.
