It’s no surprise that Phibes have a summer that packs full of festival gigs and featuring heavily in their sets will be many of their heavy-hitting D n B remixes. I don’t think even they realised just how much this side of their production work would take off and they must be buzzin’ to see that their remix ‘Voodoo People‘ has now had 180k plays on Soundcloud!

Another couple of tracks that have been doing the business are these two posted and they’re the latest tracks of theirs to be given away for free. ‘Bad Boy‘ and ‘We Run Tingz‘ both offer plenty of insane tear-out action that will have the crowds bouncing as one throughout the festival season. K+Lab has been feeling the love lately, so he’s decided to drop this slammin’ Drum n Bass remix of Natural Born Chillers classic ‘Rock The Funky Beat‘ and give it away for free to send some love back out there. An absolute legend of the Spanish Breaks scene is Peter Paul from Seville, Spain. His career began in the early 2000’s and he has had a long line of releases since. He started the N-Mity Sound label producing varying releases and 3 albums along the way. Peter Paul has also been considered that he created the genre Techno Breaks or Tech Breaks as we know it. This LIVE mix at the Banzai Club is from the very heyday of Tech Breaks around 2007 and is a prime example of his sound at that time.

Andrew Kornweibel aka Friendly is an Australian born artist who moved to London in late 2001. Launching himself onto the ripe UK Breaks scene his first release on Boombox Records (Greedy Filthy Dirty/F-ing In Public) gained him support and respect from many breaks heavy weights at that time. He then moved onto Fat! Records working closely with Paul Arnold and had various hit releases including Glottal Stomp/Foot Rocker. I’m not too sure what Andrew is up to today and as a bit of trivia Andrew’s dad was a business partner with my dad in an architectural firm.

Matt Goddard aka Dopamine is an Australian born artist who rose to fame by winning Best Single with the anthem of a track called “Hold You” at the Breakspoll awards in 2006. He was also co-owner of Title Fight records with Klaus “Heavyweight” Hill a now defunct label. While not always producing breakbeat music Dopamine moved onto house, minimal and tech releases with which he still produces today.

This 18 minute promo mix from Atomic Hooligan is from 2008 and a special promo preview mix of their album Sex, Drugs & Blah Blah Blah which was released in the UK in 2008 under the Botchit & Scarper label. A label well renowned for releasing some quality Nuskool Breaks back in the day.

If you like the funky side of beats then this mix is right up your alley. Mt. Doyle drops a selection of funky business with his favourite tunes of now, mid tempo bangers and mellow rollers from Ghetto Funk to Hip Hop, a sure crowd pleaser !
