Scour RecordsFreemix‘ series is packed full of Ghetto Funk/Funky Breaks weapons, but with this latest release which comes from Dephicit and Summer Bright, it’s all about Drum n Bass this time around. The Midtempo Breaks/Nu-Funk/Glitch Hop producers have been dropping some amazing D n B tunes over recent times and the South Coast based duo have chipped in with their extremely lively rework of ‘Give The Baby‘ by, Joe Tex, which sits alongside the best of them quite comfortably. The bounciest of times supplied just in time for the weekend!

It’s fair to say that Stevie Wonder’s all time classic ‘Superstition‘ is one of the more popular tunes to be given the remix, edit, re-fix, rework treatment. I’ve certainly come across a lot on my hunts for new music, some of them I just couldn’t connect with and some I’ve loved to bits. What I’ve not found though is a take on the original that’s as down right funky as this one by, Dave Gerrard. His gutsy Disco groovin’ spin has plenty of curb appeal and will definitely attract the attentions of those who like to get properly funked up! As this edit is here, it shouldn’t be too hard to work out that I love this one to bits and I’m sure you will to.

French duo, Afshin and Kiss My Black Jazz, have smashed their latest collaborative edit out of the park and then some! They do both produce music as solo artists, but the recent joining of forces looks like it going to be a very fruitful one indeed, especially if their incredibly cool and funky edit of ‘Jump‘ by the Queen Of Soul, Aretha Franklin, is anything to go by. If these guys have more tracks like this in the pipeline, the future looks good for us all!

Those cheeky chaps from TWOGOOD are gonna make your BBQ the hottest gathering on the block with their brand new mix! It’s volume 2 in their annual ‘BBQ Bonanza Mix‘ series and much like the first one, it’s packed with a selection of ultra funky Disco and House tracks that have been cooked up just right, so that when served, they’re at their succulent best. I reached for volume 1 plenty of times throughout last summer and I’ll be doing exactly the same now this one’s arrived!

If you sees these guys on the bill at a festival this summer, seeing them is a must. I caught them at a festival last year and my dancing shoes we’re smokin’ after their set. Great times are guaranteed!

Leeds duo, Cleary & Ste E, have been jumping for joy at their recent news of passing 6,000 followers on Soundcloud and in true tradition, the guys have decided to drop a free track just to say thank you for the support. The track they’re giving away is their remix of one of their favourite tunes of all time ‘Just Won’t Do‘ by, Tim Deluxe feat. Sam Obernik. The original is a summer anthem if ever there was one and the duo, if anything, have intensified the sunny vibes with a cooler and more groove filled take on the classic. Top stuff!

White Widow Records have released a shed load of music since their inception way back in 2013. They’re regularly release some of the best House music you can hope to find that covers the Tech, Deep and Bass aspects of the genre. They’ll bring you music from some more established names of the scene, as well rising stars and yet to be discovered producers, which is where we find ourselves with, Max Kernmayer.

Max is definitely one of those to keep an eye on and his new ‘Back And Forth‘ EP backs up that claim perfectly. The two tracks on his EP are definitely ones to be filed in your ‘floor fillers’ file. Both tunes mean business and the title track of the EP ‘Back N Forth’ just edges it in the ass kicking stakes. ‘Go Like This’ still packs a punch mind you, but as it has a darker feel, the intensity is more focused than full on. Finishing off the EP is Russia based, Jax D, who serves up a superb Acid flavoured remix of ‘Go Like This’. Top tunes everywhere, make them yours!
