Kings Go Forth in their day, were by far and away one of the coolest bands on the planet and one of their biggest fans is Chicago’s, DJ Trew. With a huge love for their music, he’s decided to hit up ‘One Day’ with an edit that sees him bring in the tempo, just a touch, then with a bit of rearrangement and a new drum break, he’s reinvigorated this classic cut with superb precision, into a track that’s now to be enjoyed by us all on today’s dance floors. This is music that vitalizes the soul, go feel it…

Normally when we come across a remix of ‘The Message’ by, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, it’s usually by one of the Funky Breaks brothers or sisters out there but not this time, not when, Spahnhattan‘s in town. He’s flipped the classic right on it’s head with the most almighty Bass House remix. You wouldn’t think so from the intro but just wait till this one drops, it’s absolutely insane! If you’re going as nuts as we are to this, good on ya, lets do this!

For those lucky enough to be at the birth of Jungle in the 90’s you’d have undoubtedly come across the legendary Micky Finn who, packed with his arsenal of dubplates, led the charge and paved the way for Jungle and Drum & Bass as we know it today.

After a brief production hiatus, Micky’s back on the scene to lead the way once again. This time he’s teamed up with Vital Elements, one half of today’s Jungle pioneers Serial Killaz, who brings something very different to the table.

So Good certainly has a nod to Micky’s past, with vocals taken from the personally influenced jazz funk classic ‘Don’t Make Me Wait’ by the Peach Boys. Let’s make this clear; there’s nothing else nostalgic about it, So Good is a forward thinking, feel good beast that will be as infectious on the dance floor as it will on radio. With early support from S.P.Y to Logan D, So Good is set to land heavy with the masses.

On the flip we have True Guidance, a rare moment in music where barriers are smashed down and classics are made. It’s clear Micky & Vital Elements went all in on this one. It’s got bounce, balls and enough energy and vibes to rock festivals to sweaty basements. With vocal samples from the 80’s yard classic ‘Country Man’, these two once again show how moving forward with a glance to the past is done properly.

Not content with smashing up dance floors worldwide with their unique brand of Jungle, Serial Killaz have been building their foundation label; Serial Killaz Recordings. With prolific releases from the likes of Upgrade, Turno and Jam Thieves in the bag they continue pushing the movement forward with a slew of artists both new and established. This latest release drops just after the huge success of Cain1's and Angelo Pantin's lovers anthem "Young Love" with the ever talented works of T.I. coming soon.

When it comes to giving old skool tunes a new lease of life with a remix, re-fix, re-take and the like, Copycat is always one to check out to see what new gems he has come up with. His funky touch has been added to many a classic track, including his latest re-take of ‘Brass Monkey’ by the Beastie Boys. Keeping in a majority of the vocals, he’s laid them over vibrant Disco beats that really brings things to life. Hope you’re feeling this as much as we are here on the ward. Seriously cool stuff ahead!

Classic 90’s Experimental Breakbeat Hardcore Remastered For 2016 Fresh from the vaults of pioneering Hardcore/techno/House imprint Rising High Records is this 11 track remastered collection of tracks by Earth Leakage Trip.

Famous for the dark bleep n bass track ‘No Idea’ on Moving shadow, a track cited by Vinyl Junkie as a game changer; Earth Leakage Trip released a number of tracks on Rising High back in the early 90’s and here they are, remastered and available in digital format for the first time. Lets run through a few of our favourite tracks on the album:

1. Bad Trip (Too Much Acid)

The title says it all, the mood is dark, the fast moving breaks double up on each other in a very trippy fashion, there’s a spooked out spoken sample and sweeping techno sounds

2.DF118

Pure mentalist breakbeat hardcore with what sounds like an Arnold Schwarzenegger sample, a blend of uplifting flute sounds, hard hoover riffs and rolling breaks plus a mad rhyme, you will have heard this one on mixtapes from back in the day

3. I Wish I Knew

Uplifting and euphoric, we have never heard this one before, pure Fantazia style sounds with elements of progressive house, trance and techno but absolutely 100% ‘ardcore!!!

4. The Doors

This is an alternative version of the famous ‘No Idea’ featuring the same freaky samples plus T99 style rave riffs and proggy pads, the windows are where the doors should be!!!

5. The Ice Cream Van From Hell

This used to frighten me back in 92, in fact it still does, many know this one from compilation album ‘Kaos Theory 3′, the slo mo ice cream van sample, bleeps and horror music effects make this one stand out even now. Just don’t let your kids listen to it!!!!

You can buy the whole album via this link http://goo.gl/a9Suf4
