Our good friends over at Breakbeat Paradise Recordings are back with their latest free download from their Power Hour radio show and what a little diamond it is! It comes from a lady we’ve featured here on LSM a few times already, Megan Hamilton. She’s no stranger when it comes to funkin’ it up with the best of em and her new rerub of ‘Sugar And Spice’ by, Luther Vandross, is another fine example of the skills she has been blessed with. As well as a fresh Ghetto Funk sound there’s also some super smooth Alto Sax action from Alexander Julius Kish and Bass Guitar from Megan herself. One listen and you’ll be ‘Feelin’ So Nice’.

Download ‘Feelin’ So Nice’ here via Hypeddit.

Two new releases on Onefold Digital from Paul Kaloko & Mcgrego

McGrego ‘Future Destined’

http://www.traxsource.com/title/712689/future-destined

McGrego is certainly ‘future destined’ for big things based on the quality of this EP. A fusion of Bass & Tech House with weighty beats and unmistakable basslines

Paul Kaloko- Surreal EP

http://www.traxsource.com/title/706477/surreal-ep

If you love Solardo, Apollo 84, Audio Rehab Recs or any other vendors of the ravey House sound then this Paul Kaloko EP needs to find it’s way into your cart. Energetic, busy and full of action. A bit of Techno, a flavour for the oldskool with the controls set firmly en route to the future!!!

We look at a couple of top Tech House releases new to Hedonistic Records

Tenacious- Get Up

http://www.traxsource.com/title/697674/get-up

Tenacious ‘Get Up’ is a convincing encouragement to do just that. The beats and claps are infectious enough. When you add in the punctuated stabs and weaving melodies of this funky tech stomper anything short of nailing your feet to the ground won’t stop you will be getting up to this!!!

ALBT- Like This EP

http://www.traxsource.com/title/687822/like-this-ep

A couple of serious tech groovers from ALBT. The title track is just so well put together, Techno esque synths, boots to the floor beats and plenty of addictive sounds all skillfully blended in. ‘How Long’ goes deeper into US House/Garage territory a la Nervous, Strictly Rhythm et al, classy as classy can be!!!

Today we review two new releases from Sweep The Floor Records. The ADE 2016 Sampler & Detroit Project’s ‘Don’t Hold Back EP’

VA-ADE 2016 Sampler

http://www.traxsource.com/title/703523/ade-2016

As with previous years, Sweep The Floor’s ADE 2016 sampler brings together a diverse range of talent who in turn provide us with some quite simply huge tracks like the uplifting rush of SimzTek & Dubz ‘Wanting’, the quirky tech stomp of Adam Dixon’s ‘Mental Hotline’, Sam Whitmore’s Defected style ‘Eye 2 Eye’, and the deep melody rich tech of Dweller’s ‘Play Around’. These are just a few highlights, this is a truly need to own album.

Detroit Project- Don’t Hold Back EP’

http://www.traxsource.com/title/712049/dont-hold-back-ep

As the artist name suggests, what we get here is three bleepy jackin’ grooves that could indeed be straight outta the motor city. Tough synths, Hip Hop vox and bouncin’ beats, all the vital parts to a well-oiled groove machine!!!

Release Date: 24/11/16

Free Breaks Blog Premiere Stream Of Nuendo ‘Secrets’ (Michael Luke remix)

As soon as we heard Nuendo ‘Secrets’, we had to reach out to Lamont Dex at Ultra Bass Records who kindly let us premiere the sparkling 90’s House style remix by Michael Luke.

The original is a perfect showcase of where this label is right now. Crossing boundaries and closing the gap between those six degrees of separation. The track, the remixes, indeed the entire release has a whole person feel blending Garage US & UK with Deep/Tech House & Breaks.

And what about those remixes? When you have the likes of Adam Hyjek, Thorn, Lewis Low and of course, Michael Luke on board you have a truly pleasing package of quality urban dance music suitable for all. Get on board!!!

Jason Ard is a producer/remixer who works under several different aliases. It’s his, Old Flame, alias that’s caught our attention and as he’s a new name to us, we can report that he’s knows how to throw down the funkiest Big Beat!

For his most recent release he’s joined forces with someone who needs no introduction to LSM regulars, Mr Big Beat himself, Rory Hoy. The track the guys have come up with ‘So Daft’ pays homage to Daft Punk and is one Acid infused, Funk filled Big Beat banger! There’s no sitting still when this one takes off!

Swedish producer Garmiani has been bashing out the big room beats for a few years now, but this is probably his biggest release to date. On MC duties he’s got Walshy Fire, one third of Major Lazer, and that makes for a wicked blend of dancehall vocals and festival rave madness. It’s not a tune that’s going to be to everyone’s taste, but it will hit the spot for those big dancefloors and is one of the more original sounding main room house tracks around. It’s also Walshy Fire’s first ever vocal on a record, so big up to him for pushing himself in new ways!

Joe Bonner ‘Got To Have It’ is out now on Locker Room Recs with remixes by Drift & 20Blood. The original is a jackin’ groover with layered percussion, timely vocal snippets and a gradual teasing of the main Detroit influenced synth hook. Drift takes that hook and amps it up for a tough frenzied pounder of a rework. Finally, 20Blood take a very different direction adding in breakbeats and cut up loops from the original for a supremely funky refix. We say with regards to Joe Bonner’s new release that you’ve quite simply ‘Got To Have It!’
