It’s fair to say that Stevie Wonder’s all time classic ‘Superstition‘ is one of the more popular tunes to be given the remix, edit, re-fix, rework treatment. I’ve certainly come across a lot on my hunts for new music, some of them I just couldn’t connect with and some I’ve loved to bits. What I’ve not found though is a take on the original that’s as down right funky as this one by, Dave Gerrard. His gutsy Disco groovin’ spin has plenty of curb appeal and will definitely attract the attentions of those who like to get properly funked up! As this edit is here, it shouldn’t be too hard to work out that I love this one to bits and I’m sure you will to.

Metha the mighty Hungarian DJ and musician has created a tune here that lives up to the title. It is a techno tune as big and as majestic as the hall it symbolises. Andrew Kornweibel aka Friendly is an Australian born artist who moved to London in late 2001. Launching himself onto the ripe UK Breaks scene his first release on Boombox Records (Greedy Filthy Dirty/F-ing In Public) gained him support and respect from many breaks heavy weights at that time. He then moved onto Fat! Records working closely with Paul Arnold and had various hit releases including Glottal Stomp/Foot Rocker. I’m not too sure what Andrew is up to today and as a bit of trivia Andrew’s dad was a business partner with my dad in an architectural firm.

If you like the funky side of beats then this mix is right up your alley. Mt. Doyle drops a selection of funky business with his favourite tunes of now, mid tempo bangers and mellow rollers from Ghetto Funk to Hip Hop, a sure crowd pleaser !

What better way to blast open the doors to the weekend than with a brand new mix from Krafty Kuts! The Data Transmission crew sent out an invite to Krafty to feature in their ‘Mix Of The Day‘ mix series and he duly obliged and compiled one of his classic party starting mixes we become so accustomed too. As I type, there’s an election going down here in the UK, so here’s a little something to break up the monotony of all that politics talk that has gotten to be a little bit out of control. It’s volume 2 of last years ‘Bring On The Brass‘, which was a mix by myself and was part of a free CD giveaway here on LSM. I’ve taken the reigns of volume 2 again and I’m once again sending out a celebration of brass in the tracks I’ve chosen which, in my mind, always adds that extra spark to music.

Last years mix was a Ghetto Funk fest, but this time around it’s a Funk/Disco approach with my mind on the time of year it is too, so the summery vibes are there in full effect.
