Andrew Diggs Drops His new Single

The Ghost

On Bass = Win

The ones for the bass lovers

Remixs come from Rico Tubbs, The Bsn Posse & Jay flames

For Me the Rico Tubbs Remix Is a Winner !!

Andrew Diggs has gone by many names over the last few years and experimented with many genres. If it was DJ Vicious in his Drum & Bass days or Noizy Boi when making and playing Dubstep, he has always been evolving. Bass=Win has caught up with him in his, ummm, in his? Well, lets just call it Jackin' Tech phase. Sharp snares and ominous bass makes 'The Ghost' into a new form of dancefloor banger!

Remixes comes courtesy of boss man Rico Tubbs, The BSN Posse & Jay-Flames. As always Bass=Win sticks its middle fingers up at genres like a 5 year old boy, full of Red Bull, out of the back window of his mums car, at the people standing at the bus stop! We don't give a f**k and we don't care who knows!

For my October chart, I thought I’d turn the spotlight on a label that started as an indirect inspiration to me, and grew into a very direct influence, with many of my latest releases coming on the prolific label and Kevin Saunderson himself playing my tunes around the globe. Here are 10 tracks released on KMS over the years which have shaped the sound coming out of my studio today.

DaMarii Saunderson & Taylor – Diamonds (John Norman Remix)
My latest offering, and my first as a remixer for KMS. Smooth and silky but with a nice kick of dance floor goodness. I hope you like!

John Norman – 313

My first solo EP for the label, which followed up two collaboration Eps with Dantiez Saunderson. The whole package of this EP was fantastic – My Detroit synth driven original, Greg Gow’s modern techno treatment, and Antwon Faulkner’s housey treatment.

Kevin Saunderson – Rock To The Beat (Christian Smith & John Selway Remix)
I remember seeing Smith & Selway play at the short-lived Matter club in London shortly before this tune was released, and it tore that packed room to shreds. Still an absolute tune.

Antwon Faulkner – Modulation
This is a fairly recent release from Faulkner (aka Twonz) who recently relocated from Detroit to Toronto. This was a part of his brilliant High Tech Funk EP, one you should check out.

Greg Gow – Three Ways To Skin A Cat (Way 01)
This is another fairly recent release from the label, when you hear it, it is one of those tracks you wish you had written yourself, which is a great thing.

Inner City – Good Life (2011 Live Tour Remix)
There aren’t really any previews of this around, so I’d suggest you check it out on Beatport. This tune doesn’t age.
2011 Live Tour Remix

Kevin Saunderson (E-Dancer) – Pump The Move
Just such a fun tune, but serious business on the dance floor. Ultimate respect.

Kevin Saunderson – Velocity Funk (Joe Brunnings Return To The Funk Remix)
I am a huge fan of the original, and Joe Brunning’s remix adds just the right update to it.

Brandon deCarlo – Live & Learn
Again, this older one doesn’t have previews, so you just have to head on over to Beatport to check it out.
Live & Learn

Phil Agosta – Tribute To Detroit (Agent X Motor City Remix)
Agent X puts a smashing twist on Phil’s Tribute to Detroit, the city of inspiration.

It’s all going off in Leygo land right now! Dave Tyers aka Leygo is a dj producer from Nottingham. He fell in love with Big beat, Hip Hop and Funk when he was younger and now uses those influences in his music making today. He’s played alongside some big players in the music world playing warm up sets for the likes of which Mr Scruff, Plan B, Candi Staton and Craig Charles to name a few. He also runs two nights in Nottingham, a Funk night called ‘ Shake and Bake ‘ at Jamcafe and the other a Ghetto Funk, Hip Hop and Breaks night at Ride Bar called ‘ E.D.I.T ‘.

The track posted is part of his festival edits collection where you get not one, not two but seven, yes seven free tracks that he has used to ignite his festival sets throughout the summer!

Leygo is another super hard working producer which is clearly evident by the amount of quality music he posses on his Soundcloud page which of course you can get at HERE. There’s enough in there to keep you going for a few weeks so if you intend to get stuck in alert family and friends just so they know that you’ve not gone missing! Black Butter Records continue to showcase their breadth with the debut EP from WAYWARD. Once again the label proves they are equally capable of exploring the cavernous depths of bass music, and equally comfortable serving luscious, soulful jams.

The London, by way of Leeds duo best known as Wayward, smoothly shuffled their way through the UK house scene, appropriately making their way to the front of the pack with their deep and sultry production. Their latest effort saw the pair in the studio for the last few months recording and experimenting with some new approaches, including the incorporation of live horn sections. But the drums, oh the drums, are key, especially with the EP’s opening track Baile which features broken rhythms as smooth as satin sheets. Grab it from beatport or iTunes.

The entire six track release is a testament to the funky and soulful nature of house music, suitable for both the dance floor and the bedroom.

Let it all hang out with a bit of funk to brighten up your Tuesday! Hailing from Santiago, Chile,  Bruno Borlone & Boogie Mike have taken the original and changed it into an arrangement that is a little more dancefloor friendly. One for all you nu-funk fans out there … “Brick House” is originally a song from the Commodores released in 1977.

Exclusively mixed with love for the Ramp Shows blog.
ramp-shows.blogspot.com/search/label/…ky%20Mosquito

There are so many cool grooves out there. A lot of hip artists are still digging into the funk, soul, jazz & rare groove items. The grooves here are mainly instrumentals and with a slow beat around 100 bpm (downbeat).
So these grooves are to chill-out, to work with, listen in a background and in any case to enjoy.
These are not just cool grooves. These are the cool grooves ! So, if it's funk, groove, jazz, hip-hop...all these tracks are composed with a kind of easy rhythm, really cool instruments or sound pieces, cool bases and nice melodies. Some are knowned some not.

I always eagerly await new releases from Paranoid Recordings, it is one of my favourite labels and rightly so with a back cat of gem after gem stretching over 10 volumes plus other releases, Vol 10 is hot off the press and the best way I can review this essential compilation is to divide into the sub genres featured within, starting on the Jungle side of things, check out Abyss’ debut track for the label ‘Total Brainwash’, atmospheric amens that remind me of DJ Crystl circa 94

Still on the Jungle tip and equally as atmospheric in a mid 90s Bukem esque way is Mellow Dee’s ‘Stella Wind’

R Core a.k.a Sonars Ghost features on Vol 10 with the amazing Basement Records style Jungle Tekno roller ‘Timeslip’

DJ Pursuit takes it back to 93 with the dark minimal ‘Overpulse’

Skumk Association’s ‘True To The Game’ visits the late 92 sound where rave music rapidly became faster, darker and more experimental, elements of Jazz & Hip Hop can be heard, even hints of Hardcore Techno

One of my favourite tracks on this LP is the previously unreleased remix of Exit Point’s ‘Badman Style’ by Leonized, seriously funky Hardcore Breaks!!!

Boca’s ‘Downstairs’ shows the deeper musical side of early Rave music, you might recall the compilation ‘Fantasia: The First Taste’ listening to this track that combines lush strings with hardcore beats and sub bass

DJ Nee takes on a euphoric ride with his remix of Elusive’s ‘Blame Me’, if this doesn’t put a smile on your face, somethings wrong with you!!!

Staying with the uplifting vibes is Nefti’s ‘Why Did You Disapear’ melodic rushy Hardcore/Rave Breaks also featuring some amazing piano!!!

Swedish producer, 1st Science is a true original to the rave revival that began in the early 90s, still going strong he features on this compilation with ‘Onward Forward’ a track that is pure unadulterated 92 hardcore!!!

Although there isn’t a video as yet, also featured on the LP is 2 versions of Renegade Genius’ lover’s rock sampling 92 Jungle Tekno style ‘Breaks My Heart’ a track that seemingly pays tribute to the sound of Ibiza Records/Labelo Blanco circa 92/93, sounding very like artists such as Noise Factory

This LP is free to download and a must have, you can download it right here
