SIRUS HOOD: WHAT YOU ARE [CUFF]

It’s hard to believe that SIRUS HOOD doesn’t use social media (other than SoundCloud) and continually garners serious respect among fans and djs alike. Mind you, when you have the production prowess that the Parisian producer has, it’s easy to see why he continually wins such praise.
His latest comes from a compilation on the AMINE EDGE and DANCE imprint, CUFF. Mechanical claps accompany the track’s swinging bassline, deep kicks, and pitched vocals. It all comes together for an addictive, hip swaying, underground stomper.
This entire compilation is well worth picking up. Grab it on iTunes.
This tune is tight, but his back catalogue is nothing to laugh at either. The material he’s dropped recently is nothing short of phenomenal.

Marten Hørger, Sangers & Ra – Out of Our Minds

Marten Hørger recently took out the awards for Best Track and Best Producer at this years Breaks poll and has not been resting on his laurels, recently releasing the tune Shock Out with another Breakspoll winner, Lady Waks. June 30th sees him dropping another release and this time he has teamed up with Brisbane duo Sangers & Ra to produce the sublime track Out of Our Minds where Acid bass, 808 drums and classy piano riffs combine for some serious big bass business. On remix duties are Black and Blunt who again take the acid route, but up the bangin quota by about 1000%. A top notch release but you don’t have to take my word for it, here’s what some of the scenes heavyweights think.
Stanton Warriors:
“We cannot believe it took 65 million years to create a song this good! …to be fair, the dinosaurs did waste a good portion of that time, though.”
Plump DJs:
“Bass battle alert! Sangers & Ra with Horger sauce for dinner, yum yum!!”
The Freestylers:
“Feeling the Club Mix and the Black & Blunt Mix. Sounds big for sure!!!”
ShockOne:
“Black and blunt remix is sweet titties boner material.”
Lady Waks:
“Yes! another work from the best producer Marten and the Australian wizards, Sangers and Ra. My full support!”

FREERANGE DJS – SUMMER RAVECAST 2014
Just before the Freerange Dj’s head off to Glastonbury for the weekend ( where you will find them playing at The Spaceport at 15:30 – 16:30 ) they have dropped their brand new Ravecast. This is packed full of special edits and unreleased tracks that you’re not going to hear anywhere else. It’s one mix to certainly get stuck into to wash away the blues of not making it to Glasto this year!
