What ever happened to Chris Carter ?

Musician, Producer and DJ, Chris Carter learnt his engineering skills whilst at the legendary ON U SOUND working with the likes of Adrian Sherwood, Little Axe, Asian Dub Foundation, Audio Active and Bim Sherman. Since starting to produce his own music in 1997, he has had a steady stream of releases on a number UK based breaks labels. Jointly responsible (with BLIM) for one of the break scene`s biggest vocal tracks (as Kasha on U, featuring Shara Nelson) he has since had releases on TCR, Botchit + Scarper, Forged, En:Vision, Secret Agent and Track Records amongst others, earning him a reputation as a master of well-crafted dancefloor tunes.

His tracks have been included on compilations such as the Botchit Breaks albums, Modernizm mixed by BLIM, Nu Breed mixed by Lee Burridge, Y4K mixed by Koma&Bones, TCR50, Tribalizm mixed by Rennie Pilgrem and Meat Katie`s Bedrock Breaks. In 2004 a mix CD of his own, Apply The Breaks was released on Botchit, showcasing upcoming material drawn only from that label.

Remix work includes tracks for Forged, Botchit, Cup of Chi, En:Vision, Passenger and most recently as Roxiller on Sober Records.

In 2005 he has co-established the Record Records label, intended as as outlet for his own material, as well as Roxiller – his joint studio project with JHz – and other future collaborations.

Currently Chris Carter is a freelance Music Technology Lecturer, Tutor at Point Blank, Rose Bruford College and Studio 3 Arts.

The king of 808 bass has to be DJ Icey and here he is again with another episode of his long running show “Automatic Static”.

DJ Icey, real name Eddie Pappa, is a DJ, artist, producer and label head. Icey’s signature sound of deep dirty bass, fat beats and electronica elements serve him and his legions of fans on the dance floor well. His chart topping productions in multiple genres are embraced by DJs worldwide. Icey’s success can be attributed to his relentless workflow, from constant touring to non stop studio action, where he is either crafting new original music or putting his signature touch on tracks for remixes and rerubs to play in his legendary energy filled DJ sets.

For well over a decade Icey’s trademark sound of bass and beats has soundtracked dance floors worldwide. His indie label Zone is a top player in the worldwide Booty Bass / Breaks /EDM scene. Icey’s passion for the music is undeniable and on display in his constant touring from major festivals to intimate club spaces, where his goal is to deliver an ass shaking good time to the people on the dance floor.

Icey drops his highly anticipated new artist album Trackotron in 2014. He is always delivering new tunes on Beatport as well his famous Automatic Static mix sets and free tunes on his Soundcloud. Icey’s sound is instantaneously recognizable yet always pushing the boundaries of the broken beat bass scene.

Peter Paul - Fookin Fly (Terry Hooligan & Zombie Robot Remix)

Peter Paul has been one of the reigning kings of Andalusian Bass music for well over a decade now. His technical and melodic production resonates with Spanish ravers from Malaga to Madrid. His latest album 'Visionary' explores his techno roots as well as his breakbeat present.

Terry and Peter (Pedro as Terry Knows him) have been amigos since the early 2000's, but this is the first time Terry has jumped on remix duties for the spanish don.

Terry has bought along his constant collaborator, Zombie Robot to help push this project to the next level.

90% of this remix was done on an Easy Jet flight back from Sevilla in April, whilst Terry Was still buzzing from the rave the night before.

We just can`t get enough of it, it is HOT in England, were in a heatwave and we`ve had the Hip hop blaring everywhere we go, summer is finally here! During the haze of car ride`s and beach bonfires, this track held a place above the rest this week, so it was a no brainer to rework Ugly ducklings classic, Somthings going down tonight.
