Hamilton- Feel The Fury/Track 8 [RAM]

Like a bomb waiting to explode, the tension builds into a frenzy on ‘Feel The Fury’ before erupting into a highly flammable amen break section and setting alight with blistering beats and bass, something of a nod to Hamilton’s musical roots back in his Kniteforce days in the mid 90s, ‘Track 8′ is a more house/bass influenced affair, in fact its tricky to pigeonhole save that it sounds great with more of a stripped back feel, reverse effects and bleepy pads, one of the finest releases from RAM in a while taking into consideration just how good they normally are, this is exceptional!!!

FREE DOWNLOAD: WOZ X CHUBBA – HBK

WOZ knows how to tap into the underground. Last year’s “Cherry Hill” is an all time favourite tune of mine in that it effortlessly bridges bass music and techno.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from the Bristolian producer but he has another rumbling number that’s equal parts heavy as it is minimal. The contrast is built with low end atmospherics and an inherit lack of melody. The tune itself is a collaboration with CHUBBA, and was teased last month with a 15 second snippet on WOZ’s Facebook page. Despite the low quality clip, it had his fans eagerly waiting for it’s release. I’m happy to say it’s out now and available for free download.

BLACK BUTTER SPREAD VOL. 5

Black Butter Records celebrate their fifth birthday this year, which is a feat in itself. Over a half decade the label has been building its roster and it’s quite apparent that the imprint has done so with selective precision, allowing both the label and the artists on it to grow into a beacon of the underground. This is none more evident than in their fifth spread: a compilation carefully curated to showcase the Black Butter family’s diversity. If you’re at all interested in reckless dancefloor abandon, there’s something in this 13 track compilation.
We picked our favourites below, but don’t let that stop you from grabbing the entire thing. From garage-tinged UK house vibes to rumbling, bass heavy, techno stompers this is a must-have record, which is available both on Black Butter Store and iTunes.

WINNIPEG WEDNESDAY: YURI’S NIGHT 2015
![]()
It’s not every day you get to party inside the planetarium at the Manitoba Museum. Luckily, once a year the museum (along with thousands of other space enthusiasts world-wide) celebrates Yuri’s Night.
Yuri’s Night is a international celebration of space exploration, named after Yuri Gagarin – the first human in outer space. For the Winnipeg party the planetarium will be lit up with spectacular visuals by PIXEL PUSHER and TOXIC PROPHESY via the Digistar all-dome projector while DAN GILSON, CODA and THE SHAKE will provide the soundtrack for this the rocket ride. Attendees are also invited to travel back in time to their nine year old selves and explore science coolness in the Touch The Universe gallery.
The event sells out every year so it’s advised you get your tickets now. (As of this writing, there were less than 50 tickets left.)
