Black Butter Records celebrate their fifth birthday this year, which is a feat in itself. Over a half decade the label has been building its roster and it’s quite apparent that the imprint has done so with selective precision, allowing both the label and the artists on it to grow into a beacon of the underground. This is none more evident than in their fifth spread: a compilation carefully curated to showcase the Black Butter family’s diversity.
