Synthetic Hype is a Breaks duo comprised of two veteran DJs, producers, and sound designers. Known to benchpress basslines, these two mix grit with silk. Both originally from Vancouver, Canada - they veer from the norm and away from the brain damaged 4 on the floor crowd. Their no-nonsense production and 'against the grain approach' to engineering leaves most believing the hype.

So apparently the artist "Final Conflict" was DJing a 3 hour set at the latest Hot Cakes event (Brixton Jamm) and decided he needed a break for a ciggie and a drink, therefore he handed over the reigns to D.Viant for 30 minutes and thus this is the resulting set.

Alex Dias (aka Sychosis) has spent over ten years in the San Francisco Electronic Music scene as a DJ, producer, and promoter. Prior to being bitten by the electronic music bug, he toured Europe and North America as a classically trained singer. His unique blend of all things broken beat, electro, and house has destroyed dance floors across California and been featured on NSB Radio, Sirius Electric Area, Party 95 (Florida), and Mutha FM (South Africa).

In the studio, Sychosis is a machine. His bangin' edits, originals, and remixes have been played on dance floors and featured in mixes worldwide. With releases on Orphan Music, Toast N Jam, Breakz R Boss and support from the likes of Phutureprimitive, Marten Horger, Left/Right, The Crystal Method, Refracture, Dylan Sanders, J-Roc(Sould Out Djs), Dj Frenzy, Lady Waks, Fort Knox Five, Krafty Kuts and Rel1 he is quickly getting noticed as a major up and coming player in the breaks scene.He also is a reviews writer for 2012 Breakspoll Nominee Life Support Machine and has interviewed FreQ Nasty, Rektchordz, and Sub Slayers among others.
