A. Yum Cha – Roll Dem
B. Yum Cha – Boom Ting
C. Yum Cha – Don’t Stop Rockin’
D. Yum Cha – Down Town Scene

Out now exclusive on Juno Download:

http://www.junodownload.com/products/yum-cha-roll-dem-ep/2581865-02/

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back to once again introduce a brand new act to the ghetto funk scene. This time it’s Yum Cha from down under who is bringin’ his own unique blend of ghetto funk – with a twist. Bringing us some of those funky breaks and wobble basslines – mixed up with some sunshine reggae and feed-good vibes.

The title tune Roll Dem as well the following Boom Ting tune displays Yum Cha’s flair for mixing ghetto funk with reggae grooves, while Don’t Stop Rockin’ takes on a more classic ghetto funk approach. Finally it ends up with some funky oldskool sample chop-ups on the Down Town Scene jam.

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is always on the lookout for new talents and as so many times before we release debut EP from some large upcoming artists in the ghetto funk. To mention a few this year we have introduced: Conte Crux, Morongroover and last but not least Phibes who is going to release their debut EP soon – right here on BBP.

We expect great things from all these artists and look out for more hotness coming your way from your favorite funky breakbeat label…

Reviews:
Monkeyboxing:
Yes he’ll be providing a couple of those – positively rolling ‘em really – plus a couple of more straight-up ghetto funky breaks on his BBP debut – er – Roll Dem EP. It’s all about the bubbling buzzsaw title cut though….

Free Breaks Blog:

This mix is a taster of what was played on the night and a taster of what the 21 years sounded like. Classic breaks, classic sounds… the sound of an era!

*  *  *  *  *  LIVE & EASY (Live DJ Set) 14/09/2014  *  *  *  *  *

“This was a ‘one deck special’ recorded last Sunday during Easy Now at The Penny Black. It was 20 degrees and sunny. During the set I drank 3 Royal Jamaican Ginger Beers and enjoyed a $12 Beef Roast. There’s a few questionable mixes, some interesting ‘blends’ and a couple of airhorns for good measure . It’s proper live (with the addition of an intro to fool the copywrite police) and a good representation of me ‘in the mix’.

I hope you enjoy this 2 hour excursion through ‘All The Sounds Of Summer’ and make it down to Easy Now for some ‘Niceness’ soon…”
