MARK BERGER- BURNIN’ [DOLPHIN FRIENDLY TUNAGE]

What a treat we have for you here to help see you through your Friday afternoon and into the weekend! A mix from three legends of the music world, Nick and Lanx ( DrumAttic Twins / Shades of Rhythm ) and Lee Coombs aka The Freakazoids. These three guys, possibly more known for their brand of Funk and Electro tinged Breaks, got together after discovering each others passions for those sounds. For them all, The Freakazoids, is all about creating a crystal clear old skool vibe using the much more up to date production techniques and equipment of today.

The mix posted, that is a promo for the upcoming ‘ Earthdance ‘ party in Florida, demonstrates just what The Freakazoids are all about. Old skool, Electro Funk to the core with all the relevant modern day touches of Bass to make their music stand out in a league of it’s own. You’ll struggle to not hit the play but again and again after a listen. Time to throwdown some moves!

Back in the day, Stephen Guy and Dan Gleeson ran separate nights on the South Coast of Bournemouth. As the guys paths crossed on several occasions playing parties around the UK a mutual respect of each others tastes in music became apparent and after a discussion they decided, Ten Story, should be born and it’s been all go since! Playing alongside artists such as Route 94, Maxxi Soundsystem and Richy Ahmed in clubs like Ministry Of Sound their skills and sounds wasn’t going unnoticed and they were soon approached by Ibiza Rocks to be regulars at the venue on the white isle where they then went on to be crowned ‘ key residents ‘.

Their sound revolves around all things House, sometimes a little deep but more often on the techier side of things. Their remix however combines them both and is a track many old skooler will instantly recognise ‘ Gypsy Woman ‘ by Crystal Waters. It packs in plenty of verve and vigour and is one to unite the ravers, old and new on the dance floor. Make it yours to do the same!

There’s been many top reworking’s of ‘ California Soul ‘ by Marlena Shaw over the years and here’s another one we’ve picked up from Australian based, Cheshire. This dude started off making Dubstep in 2008 and scored a number one hit with his EP ‘ Punk ‘ which was released on Rottun Records. Seven years on and after travelling the world he finds himself at a point where Bass and Glitch meet Jazz, Funk and Soul which is exactly where this edit lies. Give it a spin and get a load of the funky fatness!

Today were sharing this belter of a track alongside Neon Steve featuring Lafa Taylor titled Heavy Metal Shit. “This Collab with Neon Steve came out super naturally. One of the final tunes made for the album, Im not sure how to categorize this as other than just pure party music. The vocalist is Lafa Taylor who is someone ive wanted to work with for a while now.  I consider this tune as the follow up to “Sleeveless Jump off” tune i made with Wick-It the Instigator from my previous “R.YF.SO” Album.
