Father Funk has decided to release his very special LIVE mix from this years Shambhala Music Festival. Mixing it up in the Fractal Forest and road testing a bunch of new material.

“I am very excited to finally unleash my Fractal Forest Mix from the incredible Shambhala Music Festival this summer! Playing on the Fractal Forest was truly an incredible experience, something I only ever dreamed of, so to be booked to play there this year was an absolute honour. I tried my very best to put together the best set I possibly could, featuring a large helping of exclusive tracks, a few classics from my back catalogue and some of my favourite tried and tested bangers! I’d also like to thank my awesome talented friends for providing a lot of the tracks on this mix – namely WBBL who has been killing it lately, super happy to see him also making out to Canada this month!” – Father Funk

A couple of years ago we put together an almighty post featuring 6 mixes from that years Burning Man and after a quick search of the internet, we tracked down 8 from this years desert party! On offer is a huge amount of music both in time and quality so lets get to it…

We quick things off with one of the most notorious stories of Burning Man 2016. The Funk Hunters got an invite from their good friend, The Festival Guy, who is one of the founders of ‘Camp Ego Trip‘, to play a set as Daft Punk, helmets n all! As massive fans of Daft Punk, the guys jumped at the chance and took to the stage to play a Daft Punk inspired set with Griz joining them with some live sax action. The whole thing was kept a tight knit secret and had everyone wondering if it actually was the French duo performing live, including mainstream media giants, Billboard. Clearly they played a blinder so give their mix a spin!

The Stanton Warriors kept numerous crowds entertained over the week long party and have chosen to give us all their set from the ‘Slut Garden‘. Because of the sensual surroundings of that particular installation, the guys decided to go in deep and dirty with a Bass heavy set of stripped back broken beats. Body rockin’ business!

Brazil’s heavyweight producer, Alok, will have had the crowds jumping for sure with this hard hitting House set he played! The cracks in the crispy desert floor would have opened up considerably from all the dancing going and because of the power of the music packed into his one hour mix. Rocket fuelled sounds!

American producer/DJ, N2N was put in charge of welcoming the sun from it’s sleep and as your about to hear, what a soundtrack to a sunrise! His mix that’s just shy of 4 hours is a mind altering experience for all the right reasons as he lays down his brand of Cosmic House music. You’re gonna visit some wonderful places in your mind with this one!

Mayan Warrior is a superbly decked out art car that’s driven from Mexico to the playa each year. It’s hosted some truly talented DJ’s and a vast array of music that’s all smothered with dust and love. Out the of the 10 mixes posted from there, it was very hard to pick one as they’re all so breathtaking, but DJ Three‘s set is the one we’ve gone for and I’m sure it’ll be the perfect tempter to lead you on to the rest that lie in wait. Heady, heartfelt House music all night long.

German producer/DJ, Miyagi, was not on a mission to rock ‘The Kasbah‘ stage, but to help ease a few of the weary party goers into a new day with his ridiculously gorgeous Tech House sunrise set. There’s no doubts that the love would have been flowing freely from everyone who experienced this beautifully crafted set. 100% breathtaking!

The stunning House music just keeps on coming with another 3 hour mix, this time from heavyweight German producer/DJ, Robert Babicz. He’s a name that many of you may well already know, so it’ll come as no shock when I tell you that his hugely atmospheric set is epic! It’s a simple as that. Tune in and love life.

If you’re looking for a mix to aid you in your attempts to evaporate all the negative energy that’s floating around in your soul, Dunks luxurious Sunday morning set from ‘Funky Town’, is most definitely the one for you. It’s packed with the perfect blend of soulful and funky downtempo beats that features both new and classic cuts. As one half of The Funk Hunters, Dunks knows only to well how to throw down the correct sounds for the right occasion and does so with superbly.

Hats off to all of the artists here for a massively enjoyable musical journey. I hope you enjoy the mixes as much as me.

KILL ROOM // OUT NOW // DOWNLOAD ram.lnk.to/DHKillRoom

'Kill Room' sees the duo retracing their steps into the darkly epic and

menacing sound of Paradise Lost. While their vocal-led previous single

White Flag hinted at glittering pop sensibilities, 'Kill Room'

is brutal reminder of their renowned ability to dismantle dance

floors across the lands; an expertly produced slice of cutting edge DnB

drawing on influences past and future.

Funk Hunk his back once again to flex his Funk muscles with this jaw dropping re-edit of Deodato‘s 1979 hit ‘Shazam’. Things kick off in a purposeful manner and after just a few seconds, the anticipation levels will rise as to were you’re heading. As the Funk flows you’ll be met by a bassline hook that rips through your speakers which then gives way to some sparkling horn action. At the halfway point, that soul shaking bassline drops in once again before the Funk and horns take over. What a tune!!!

We love it when music pops up from Aquasky! This time around it’s a mix from, Brent, who has us bouncing around like loons to just under an hours worth of music that has been either written or remixed by Aqausky, or released on their labels. If the sound of that gets you excited, that’s nothing once you’ve press that play button! This is a Breakbeat mix you’ll be reaching for time and time again without doubt!

To keep you hyped, another mix of this flavour will be dropping next month as well as free D n B relick too. Hit the links below to keep tabs on when all that kicks off.

Today’s House & Techno Roundup features Sankuh/Atypical (MFR Records), Stonedove (13 Records), Dots Per Inch, House Of Virus & DJ Ides (Freakin909), Noah Peterson (Swerve Digital), Skapes & GAWP (Eskape Musik), Franky Rizardo (LTF), Brad Hill (DRUM) & Jake Whitehouse (BPM)

Sankuh/Atypical’s new EP on MFR includes this 92′ rave inspired Tech House slammer….

Stonedove gets a sterling remix package on 13 Records from the likes of Graeme Vass and Esspea

Truth is we prefer Dots Per Inch’s take on ‘Trouble’ to the original, it’s that good!!!

Uplifting much? This vocal house track by House Of Virus won’t leave your head!!!

On the jackin’ tip, DJ Ides gets down and dirty with ‘Shake That Ass’ plus remixes from Marshall Jefferson and more

Noah Petersen’s new EP on Swerve Digital features 2 deep throbbing tech groovers and a mouth-watering selection of remixes thanks to  Engelhart , Coeus, Batenko, & Justin Pak

When Skapes & GAWP get in the studio, the results are super funky and heavy hitting,  shades of House, Techno, Bass and the 90s sound in one essential track

Franky Rizardo’s new EP on his own LTF imprint features this absolute teaser of a track below, one to go loco too!

One of our favourite and most original labels, DRUM Records kindly introduces us to the dark textures and rhythmic vibrations of Brad Hill, techno how it should be and then some!!

Nice 96 esque chugger from Jake Whitehouse on the always on point BPM label, plenty of busy beats and drag you in atmosphere!!
