This mix by Steve Thorpe was recorded live at Lowdown UK in November 2017. Sadly it was the last ever Lowdown at Sound Control before the club got closed down in December to be knocked down and turned into student flats. Sad times. This was where Lowdown spent 6 great years. Bringing the best in breaks to Manchester in that time. Over 50 parties, winner of 4 awards, 1000’s of happy clubbers and millions lost brain cells later… it was time to say goodbye to Sound Control in true Lowdown style

A Skillz aka Adam Mills is the one man band that has been in the EDM scene for quite a while now. Constantly touring across the globe and bringing his turntablism talent wherever he goes. Never one to stick to genres you can find his DJ sets full of variety from Funk to Hip Hop to Breaks to Drum and Bass. Starting with his debut album Tricka Technology back in 2003 along with long time friend and DJ Krafty Kuts to his recent production of “We Got Fun” I’m pretty sure A Skillz is not going away any time soon.

Well where do i start ? Commonly known as “The Godfather of Breaks” Rennie Pilgrem’s contribution to the early Nuskool Breaks scene is outstanding and given this title is often considered responsible for the creation of the Nuskool Breaks genre. Before moving into breaks Rennie produced techno and acid house and was part of the influential rave group Rhythm Section along with Ellis Dee. Rennie is also the boss of Thursday Club Recordings aka TCR a label which he founded in 1993 which was a major force in the Nuskool Breaks scene. Now concentrating more on his talented art skills Rennie has stepped back from the dance scene and continues to produce some great works of art.

The Stanton Warriors have discography about as long as my arm ! Consisting of Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley, the duo have performed internationally with their infamous Stanton Sessions parties in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Their name was taken from a manhole cover, made by Stanton Ironworks, which seemed fitting with their style of underground, cutting edge music.

Still touring globally today the duo have cemented themselves in EDM history and are known worldwide with over 1 million Facebook fans, their own label Punks Music and a continued devotion to the Breaks and Bass scene.

This is a direct studio promo mix that i managed to get my hands on back in 2008.

Breaksmafia consist of members DJ Rasco, Perfect Kombo and Wdj and are known for their high energy DJ mixes and live performances. A great way to finish off the year for Firetraxx Radio.

The Baymont Brothers are just that brothers Jose Maria Barrientos and Antonio Barrientos. Jose a professional musician with over 15 years playing various instruments such as bass, keyboards and guitar. Antonio who is well known for his DJ skills and the promotion of Breaks in Andalusia (Spain) for more than a decade.

This mix was recorded recently, pure party vibes with lots of Booty Breaks & Bass.

Dopamine went searching and dusted of his crates recently for a very special one off mix for Yreane and his Breaks Review Show in Russia.
