Proudly hailing from a county that is so backward that most peoples family trees look more like tumbleweeds, a thoroughbred trio of dedicated Cornish idiots have been quietly paving the musical way for their stalwart countryside kinsmen. Like the blind leading the blind the Freerange Djs have embarked on a chaotic adventure that is slowly leading to what must be one of the music industries most unorganised rises to fame on record. That said, their unorthodox methods have picked them up some noteworthy accolades along the way including 2 Mixmag ‘Tune Of The Month’s, releases on prestigious labels such as Skint Records and 470 real Twitter followers. The Freerange Djs have won lots of awards that are not really worth mentioning and narrowly missed out on some good ones too. With remix work for the mighty Stanton Warriors set for release imminently as well as a delightful summer festival season booked in including their favorites Glastonbury and Boomtown Fair, its looking like these modest idiots could be sailing the good ship Breakbeat at full speed towards some very prosperous rocks in the not too distant future…… To prematurely celebrate their successes, the Freerange Djs have decided to give away their triple funky Re-Rub of Chad Tyson’s “Heard It Like this” in order to provide you with the highest of vibes for the long summer of funk ahead. Hello Freebreaksblog!  This is my first Glitch Hop Cyclops post on the blog!  In coming times, I’ll be keeping my beady eye on some awesome Glitch Hop music and sharing it with all of you. A little bit about me, I started Skanky Panky Records in 2011 alongside my long term spar, Buddha from SixAM. We wanted to bring some of the West Coast sound we loved so much at the time (and still do) to the UK, and fuse it with the wonderful wonky fun mid tempo sound of so many classic UK artists like Tipper and Danny Breaks, and amazing labels like Tru Thoughts and Ninja Tune. I personally went on to release an album with Rocstar, and have remixed many breaks and mid tempo artists, from Opiuo and K+Lab to CMC & Silenta and the Baymont Bros.  I currently co-run the UK Glitch Hop show on www.glitch.fm every wednesday and my little slice of the freebreaksblog will run in tandem with that show, including featured interviews and guest mixes. So enough about me… let’s get on with this… FIZZ!

Another collection worth grabbing is the K+Lab – Space Dirt LP which is now free to download from Junkfood. Plenty of glitch hop club bangers and some more thinking man’s fodder in this one. Tried and tested tracks by myself are “Need To Know”, “Captain Crack Juice” and “Black Hole” (by myself and Caleb, it’s gritty).

Going heavyweight for a minute, we have some rowdiness from Ramzoid remixing Culprate. Banging neuro nonsense but with loads of musicality to boot. Plenty of other quality free stuff on his Facebook too.

Big up to my boy 4bstr4ck3r, who is up next with Tack, and they deliver this accordion tainted stomper, just holding it on the cool side of vintage remix territory and in their uniquely french way. Big track. The rest of the EP is also free and worth a listen

One Hand Clap have just dropped this glitchhopcommunity freebie, which bring smiley 80s jump up hiphop flavours alongside some neck jarring bass grooves. Boom.

Power Animal is a killer cut from Kursa, Shamanic Technology and Colony Productions. These guys really know how to make neuro sound fun and exciting, every bar is different and the attention to detail is insane. Get this then check their other releases, you’ll thank me!

Last up we’ve got a bit of a curve ball, CloZee comes with a lovely future garage meets trap track. There is some serious magic going on here, this guy is one to watch for sure.
