24K & Sevarge join 18 09 Records with ‘We Make Sound’, they are in excellent company too thanks to a remix by Fake Self

The original is a swirling melodic Techno track with shades of Drumcode and Alan Fitzpatrick. Looped chords and riveting atmospherics really make this track work a treat. For the Tech House fans, Fake Self gives ‘We Make Sound’ a tough big room overhaul taking the darker elements of the original and bringing them firmly in front place.

Davey Hub has put together something special here. This is his DJ tribute mix for The Prodigy vs The Freestylers. I’ll let Dave explain it a bit better:

“Here is the next installment of my DJ tribute mixes and this one is a heavyweight contest between 2 bass and beats specialists. In the blue corner there is no introduction needed as we have probably the best live electronic band in the universe The Prodigy. These guys have been on the scene for well over 20 years and are still at the forefront pushing their unique blend of heavy beats , synths and guitars combined with the vocals of Keith Flint and Maxim. In the red corner we have The Freestylers who , whilst maybe not as mainstream as The Prodigy , have also carved out a career in heavy breakbeats and bass lines. The Freestylers are a British electronic music group, consisting of producers Matt Cantor, Aston Harvey. They have released five studio albums and a number of mix compilations for, among others, Fabric and BBC Radio 1 Xtra.

So there you have it , 2 heavyweights slugging it out track by track in the mix.”

Tracklist

This remix from, WBBL and Father Funk, was made over a year ago, but because of it’s popularity and the fact it gets such a huge response whenever it’s dropped at their gigs, they’ve decided it’s time to let everyone have a piece of it by putting it up for free download. With names like those two on collab duties and them then combining the colourful characters, Rick & Morty, it shouldn’t be to hard to work out that this slab of Ghetto Funk is a real floor filling piece of music.

I’m not quite sure how I’ve managed to miss the incredible music made by Greek producer, George Kelly, especially as his music is heavily flavoured with Funk and Disco of the midtempo variety. His 3 track EP ‘Satisfaction Express‘ was my first encounter with the sounds he produces and this funk train satisfies on every single level! For the discerning funk lover, these 3 funk weapons are absolute must haves!

George doesn’t just spend his time making top quality tunes as he runs two labels, Chopshop Music and Our Records, that are both stacked with a bountiful supply of Funk and Disco tunes. As well as his new EP to check out, have a listen to his new mix that was recorded for, Gouranga. Classy Disco all the way.

Buy the ‘Satisfaction Express’ EP here from Beatport.

Made To Move takes it back to the oldskool with a House music twist!!! We first heard this artist on Spira Music. Since then he has featured on some of the scene’s top labels like the two Simmas (Black & Red), Hustler Trax & Nurvous. Some of his latest releases are here for review below, check them out!!!

Made To Move- Hardcore Feel EP

http://www.traxsource.com/title/764686/hardcore-feel

Both ‘Hardcore Days’ and ‘Feel The Beat’ conjure up the early 90s rave vibe perfectly with excitement laced synths and rolling beats a la Low Steppa, Dennis Quin & co

Made To Move- You Had It

http://www.traxsource.com/title/757469/you-had-it

We really love this one, for the keen spotters out there, this is a homage to Bass Ballistics ‘Blow Out’, the kick drums get swapped for some rolling breaks and if this doesn’t make your skin go all goosebumpy then quickly check your pulse!!!

Made To Move- Classic But More EP

http://www.traxsource.com/title/748586/classic-but-more

The title track takes a teeny weeny snippet of Baby D ‘Let Me Be Your Fantasy’ and blends it in the percolator for a  rushy garage/breaks hybrid that practically forces you to hit replay. ‘Radi Call’ features a really cool vocal sample and hits the dubstep tempo for a slammin’ breaks banger of a tune!!!
