Ben Murphy goes head to head with Scientific Funk for the ‘Paradise EP’ on Something Different Again. Lovers of Big Room stabby Techno/Tech House will be in their element checking out these stellar tracks!!

‘Industrial’ is punctuated by super effective gnarly stabs that entice the listener onto the dance floor. ‘Dangerous Grounds’ operates a ground where bouncing kicks collide with cavernous Techno keys.

Ben Murphy & Scientific Funk offer their own alternate versions of the title track. Scientific Funk’s version contrasts the transcendental vocals with a classic techno bedding. Ben Murphy steers ‘Paradise’ into deeper waters, adding in more housey aspects into the blend. Outstanding musical content from SDA yet again.

Consider this funky little gem from London based, Harry Wolfman, a late Christmas present as the Dutch label, Midnight City, dropped back when the halls were decked. We’ve very recently picked it up and we’re only to happy to share Harry’s deliciously chunky edit of ‘Head’ by, Prince. Harry’s road tested it already at numerous gigs and it’s always gone down an absolute treat, so get in you collection and be prepared to fill the dance floor.

‘Skyline’ opens mellow with a summer breeze of melodic sounds before switching to circa 94′ style Reese bass mayhem

‘Zero Sugar’ progresses through more upbeat sounds into buzzing 808s and a euphoric final section

‘Life’ is a sweet slice of vocal DnB perfect for anytime, anywhere. Class in abundance on this sterling DnB EP

Killed Kassette kickstart new label Five Finger Discount with 4 tech house bangers all nicely wrapped up in the ‘Organs EP’

Killed Kassette ‘Organs EP’ is the tasty launch for Criminal Hype’s new sister label, Five Finger Discount. We were very pleased to be given a premiere of ‘Who We Are’, a throbbing, rubbery rhythm with snatches of Korg M1 piano.

The late 80’s warehouse influence is strong on the title track to this EP and continues with the positively yummy 303s of ‘King Of Acid’

And what better way to close this great first release than with a trip to the ‘Rave Cave’, a more stripped back dubby affair with snatches of mentasm/hoover riffs and grinding late night beats. Killed Kassette killed it!!
