With Frankee More‘s remix of Montell Jordan‘s ‘This Is How We Do It’ recently riding high on Hypeddit’s Glitch Hop chart, we’re very sure that his brand new bootleg of ‘I Got 5 On It’ by, Luniz, is about to make moves in the very same direction very soon. It’s pitched on the funkier side of Glitch Hop so be prepared to let your moves flow rather than fly because of the heavy groove that’s been applied. Top stuff from Frankee as always.

Download Frankee More’s bootleg here via Hypeddit.

Even when the UK weather lets you down, you can always bring some sunshine to your stereo.

This month has been a difficult pick due to all the great edits that have been released. Since we are heading into the depths of summer I thought it only fitting that we go for some great up beat and soulful tracks for the list.

The pick of the bunch for me this time around is the immensely talented Dave Allison’s rework of the Brooklyn Bronx & Queen’s band’s ‘Dreamer’. All hail the man from Montreal. You can also grab this on a free download as he celebrates over 1.5 million plays on Soundcloud.

Even though I have picked one form the bunch as stand out, I really have to say each and every track in the list is brilliant – again, showing the talent that oozes form the edit scene.

1. BB& Q // Dreamer (Dave Allison Edit)

2. Gayle Adams // Love Fever (Drive Club Edit)

3. Infinity // Check Me Out (RaRiTiEs Edit)

4. George Druick // Georgy Porgy (Ramsey Hercules French & Clean Edit)

5. Johnny Guitar Watson // You’ve Got A Hard Head (Ronny Hammond Break A Leg Edit)

6. Michel Berger // Les Princes des Viles (Benoit De BonneFamille Edit)

7. Melba Moore // Standing right Here (Dj “S” Remix)

8. Nightime LTD // Do Me Tonight (Tony’s Edit)

9. Pino D’angio // Ma Quale Idea (Professional Gigolo Edit)

10. Mirage //Summer Groove // (Serge Gamesbourg Edit)

Warren Zevon // Nite Time In The Switching Yard (Flying Mojitos Bros Midnight Train Edit)

Tania Maria // Come With Me (Lego Dub 5 AM Edit)

Tenderness // Got to Keep Trying (DJ Recycle Dub To The Floor Edit)

Hope you enjoy the mix I have pulled together. Track listing is available on Soundcloud page

To complete you listening enjoyment, here is your free Frictional Heroes edit for the month – excusive to LSM. Let me know what you think in the comments.

If you have an edit you would like to share with me, join our group and fire it in. All edits get listened to.

It’s no surprise that DJ Hybrid hits the Serial Killaz camp with a massive EP full of jungle and mid 90’s influences. ‘Too Deep’ is a monstrous bag of 5 (yes 5!) hard hitting, breakbeat infused riddims, each with their own throwback to different events in drum and bass’ history.

This is certainly one EP not to miss - period.

For those thinking “you can’t do mid 90’s using digital hardware”..

It’s time to change your mindset.

‘Give You More’ wouldn’t be of any surprise if it was dropped at AWOL in 1994. It’s as if Hybrid has literally rewound time, given it a fresh lick of primer and layered up the final coat with an array of mashed up breakbeats lashed with BIG growling sub bass.

Moving swiftly on to ‘Big Respect’, certainly something due to many of the original foundation of the jungle scene and without a doubt played out well on this heavyweight track. Infused reggae influences combined with dub effects that will no doubt remind you of the old effects machine at Telepathy it’s a sure fire hit aimed at the young, the old and everyone in between.

‘Regrets’ provides the thought of moody atmosphere, smoke machines pillowing out tons of dry ice, lazers licking the heads of ravers through a sweat haze and slow motion dance moves. It’s a guaranteed head nodder whether you’re a side to side or up and down kind of mover - either way, you are going to feel this tune one way or another.

Stopping briefly as the EP’s title track ‘In Too Deep’ takes a stance with its cinematic introduction, brief female vocal samples and then.... Silence. Pause for second before the rollercoaster bass and breaks take you on a musical journey.

Memories of Dreamscape 15 V 16 or United Dance will potentially come flooding back to those in regular attendance at either The Sanctuary or Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre with just one play of ‘Moving On’. It’s as if this tune has nailed the atmosphere and production style of these eras all in one go. Think DJ Red meets DJ Seduction.

All in all this is another tough EP from the Serial Killaz camp, 100% quality with not a single filler or weak tune.

Don’t be fooled into thinking this is another attempt at remaking jungle either, this EP is fresh as the morning sun at 6am when you’re being ejected from a venue whilst 100’s of flyers are being stuffed in your hands.

Legion & Logam, a trio who’ve cemented themselves as an international

crossover act whilst pedestalling US drum & bass within the Ram roster.

After the breakaway success of their first single on the Program imprint,

‘House of Cards’,

As well as a host of fresh cuts of the Ram Records compilation series,

they’re returning with a single to cement themselves

yet again within the genre’s fabric.

Having become a staple of festival stages globally,

it’s no surprise they’ve piqued such interest across the scene.

‘To Be Alone’ features Micah Freeman on vocals, making another appearance since

‘Holding On’ and adding his signature

twist between carefully constructed layers of noise.

Freeman’s voice stretches to its furthest heights, dropping down musical

crescendos and over kicking drum patterns.

Snapping percussion washes over

each train of sound with distorted guitar underpinning each segment.

Piano notes filter through the mix,

creating an emotional composition that pedestals the

style Legion & Logam reign over.

‘Switch Up’ juxtaposes its predecessor,

nastily slick whilst oozing with throbbing

bass and clicking percussion.

Weighty yet tightly knit,

it exposes the darker underbelly of their production.

Stabbing their way through, each beat arrangement

bites whilst you’re taken amongst a conundrum of

quaking subs and shaking Basslines.

Once again proving that Legion & Logam are a versatile outfit,

this one is a call to war for the rave’s murkier corners.

Once again,

it’s time to get with the Program…

One that celebrates diversity whilst

distributing acts like Legion & Logam

onto an unsuspecting audience since its inception.
