Pecoe + Ian G (Beatslappaz) + Canasta + Chipper - 4 Deck Mix - 30.1.2004

This mix was recorded LIVE back in 2004 with 2 mixers and 4 technics turntables of all places set up outside in a friends (Dave Cawthorn) backyard. From memory this is just a part of what was an epic 8 hour session that went well into the night while annoying the neighbours in the process. Some truely great old Nuskool tracks in this one mixed by me (Pecoe), Ian G (Beatslappaz), Oli (Canasta) and Chipper. While a few of us lost contact over the years it still was a great time and tune wise the heyday of Nuskool Breaks.
If you know of any of the tunes in the mix please drop a comment in the timeline. With most probably a few trainwrecks and bad scratching enjoy the music from this now 10 year old mix.

SE7EN DEADLY BREAKS - A Tribute To Hybrid Mix

Awesome ! Yet another tribute mix. This time a tribute to progressive breakbeat pioneers Mike Truman and Chris Healings aka Hybrid, mixed by fast rising breaks duo SE7EN DEADLY BREAKS.
Hybrid are a British electronic music group based in Swansea, comprising Mike Truman and Chris Healings, with the addition of Charlotte James completing their 2010 lineup. They are primarily known as a progressive breaks act, although they overlap considerably with progressive house and trance. However, the band are now taking a more structured approach to song writing, with the addition of Charlotte James contributing to the writing process. The duo are considered pioneers of the electronic genre, and have produced four studio albums, all garnering critical acclaim. They are known for their cinematic approach to their production, specifically with the use of orchestral sounds, which is particularly notable on their debut album Wide Angle when they collaborated with the Russian Federal Orchestra. Also over their seventeen-year career, they have produced over 100 remixes for over 40 artists.

7DB – A Tribute To Hybrid

Everyone that has been exposed to the sounds of breakbeat will have undoubtedly rocked out to the classical, progressive and bass heavy wizardy of Mike Truman and Chris Healings, aka Hybrid. They were some of my own first experiences of breaks with their
a very welcoming surprise B-side which eventually got loads more play than the A. Breakspoll 2013 winners of Best New DJ’s, Se7en Deadly Breaks, were also exposed to them early on in their journey to becoming full bore breaks addicts and have compiled and mixed this hour long tribute to the progressive breakbeat pioneers.
Here’s what the guys has to say;
“Basically we wanted to do a tribute mix to Hybrid because we’re such big fans and they are where we first heard the breakbeat sound with their remix of F.S.O.L. – Papua New Guinea. Then from there seeing them at Fabric and other clubs and festivals alongside other breaks artists opened up that whole exciting scene to us.
Enjoy the mix
Big ups to Hybrid!”
So enjoy the mix and make sure you hit up the 7DB Facebook and Hybrid’s website for stacks more music.
