As some people may already know, the legendary Skint Records label in Brighton, which pioneered the Big Beat movement has very recently been bought by BMG Records, marking the end of an era for the label, and for dance music in general. Skint was home to some amazing artists including Midfield General, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Kidda, Lo-Fidellity Allstars, Cut La Roc, Xpress2, Sonny Wharton and of course Fatboy Slim, who's still to this day one of the biggest DJ's ever - Even myself, Rory Hoy had a couple of tunes released on the Under 5's Imprint.

In tribute - here is a 5 minute minimix of some of the label's greatest hits!

One of Germany’s hottest exports, Ostblockschlampen are doing great things. Having recently been played on Radio 1 (who even pronounced their name correctly!) and their latest single ‘Tijuana’ hitting no.7 on the Beatport charts,‘ check out their rework of Zedd - Stay The Night. Parallax - Originally from Winchester, this London dwelling rapper and producer has been soaking up the sounds of the big smoke, fusing deep lyrics and dusty, boom beats. Having performed up and down the land … this is a track off his debut  E.P “Depth Perception”‘. Check this dude out if you are into your underground hip-hop!

As Hexadecimal sadly wraps up his Reckless Radio show he departs on a massive high with an oustanding classics Breakbeat mix. If your a fan of Breakbeat the tracklist is a jaw dropper. Nufunk Round Up

Turtle aka Jon Cooper from Glasgow has reworked the lovely Lyla Foy. Having already gained support from the likes of Giles Peterson and NME, and Radio 1, ‘Left To Wonder’ is a beautiful piece of ambiance taking the listener on a journey and leaving them yearning for more.

Deekline takes Mary J Blige’s 1992 classic Real Love and gives it a Drum n Bass remix workout. High energy and full of summery vibes it’s one to have up your sleeve when the party get’s rocking!

Kensaye is a French producer based in London, focusing on soul/hip-hop/electro/chill-out. This is an official remix for  ZAiiO, a Moroccan trilingual rapper who is getting a lot of hype in the scene at present. After offering him the job – how could he resist! Teaming up with Innocent, they become the K.I. Project and put their own afro electro twist on this mellow trap tune.
