How do’s G’Funk’errs…very, very, very long time no see/speak/post! Spinforth here, back with y’all briefly to introduce you all to Father Funk‘s brand spankin’ new ‘Phenomenal Funk EP‘ – which is **OUT NOW** exclusively via Juno Download.

Undoubtedly it’s a huuuuuge and genuine hounour, pleasure, aaand a privilege to be unleashing this‬ exceedingly tasty (..even if I do say so myself) 5 track Artist Series EP for/with him via Scour Records! Seems like just yesterday that I first Scoured up some unknown 17 year old kid from the Lake District – who’s sounds and works my fussy ears instantly loved and heard enormous promise in, and so swiftly dubbed him the ‘Fresh on the scene bomb making machine‘! Turns out it was actually waaaay back in Scour #47 days (January 2012), he was actually a young man (not a kid) with a very screwed on head, aaand, proper chuffed to say, he very soon proved me very right – delivering bomb after bomb after bomb..recurring – through his sheer and consistent determination, patience and mega hard work! As we all know, he’s gone on to make somewhat of a thoroughly deserved Superstar name of/for himself – and so, I for one wanted to take this opportunity to sincerely thank him for offering up such an awesome EP to Scour Records, as well as wish him all the very best with this release, aaaand for his and your continued success in the future!

And so..without further a do, warmest of welcomes to you ALL to Father Funk’s ‘Phenomenal Funk EP’ – choc full of quality, reflecting and flexing varying vibes, skills and styles, aaaand we hope featuring at least ‘one big little something for everybody’ – just the way we love to serve ‘em up here at Scour Records HQ!

“With a clap of thunder and a flash of something hairy, the doors to the pub exploded. As the smoke cleared it left Father Funk stood silhouetted in the doorway. We all stared open mouthed as he moonwalked in and pointed to our table “I don’t like you!” he shouted, “My friend doesn’t like you either!” Then he started chopping our arms off with his bloody light sabre. Turns out the good Father was just trying out for the next Star Wars movie, he’s so Super pippin’ hot right now that we’re not ruling it out. It’s true that having no arms will mean we’ll have to resign from the darts team, but seeing The Father sexoring up Princess Leia on the telly will ease any resentful feelings we may harbour towards the scamp!

And hell! He apparently does have the death sentence on 12 systems, so we were lucky it was just the arms!

Hailing from Texas Rick Tedesco is a fine purveyor in the world of Progressive Breaks but here he takes us on only a slight tangent with this piece of quite sublime Progressive House. All of Rick’s trademark atmospheric, melodic and floating sounds are used to full effect here with lush vocal touches from Connie Halls. This is one of them tracks that’s good for the mind, body and soul!

If you were a fan of the Garage music explosion of the 90’s then your gonna love this new track from The Push. It has all the hallmarks Garage brought with it from back in the day, shuffling hi-hats and skipping kick drums with a gorgeous vocal which is provided here by Lauren Meehan. Time to dig out my shell suit and practice my running man! Enjoy!

French Psy Breaks supremo MartOpetEr is our focus for this weeks Throwback Thursday and a very apt title name as it’s Halloween eve. The track was originally part of a 5 track ep by Deenk but Beatport found an issue with some part of the track and removed it and MartOpetEr being the top dude he is put it up for free download. The track was posted back in 2011 but as is the case with a vast majority of quality underground music, like this is, if know one told you how old some of it is you would think it’s as current as the next second. It’s pure unadulterated Psy Breaks at it’s best and it kicks like a mule!

This post coincides very neatly as MartOpetEr is looking for just 13 more followers on Soundcloud before he releases a massive Far Too Loud remix. So if you’re liking the sound of his work you know what to do, hit this LINK and lets make it happen!
