Jem Stone’s Stone Grooves Vol. 1 is a collection as deep and diverse as you would expect from a recording artist who has long defied being pigeonholed.   As the co-founder of seminal breaks label Finger Lickin’ Records, it has all the groove, punch and funk (and of course artwork) you would expect from the ex-Soul of Man, yet here you’re invited to slip n’ slide further into the depths of his rubbery soul, with luscious downtempo pieces rubbing shoulders with the funkier, chunkier side Jem Stone is more widely-known for.
