It’s very welcomed news of late that Leftfield have decided to release a new album and not only that, a tour! So with that celebration in mind here is a remix of distinct beauty by American producer, Slighter. The remix of ‘ Space Shanty ‘ is atmospheric and carries a progressive Breaks feel and it draws you in within the first few seconds! It’s a reflection of his music he has made for tv and film on American networks such as NBC, FOX and Showtime to name a few and the forward thinking and quality of his music has seen him collaborate with, Future Funk Squad.

Turn all your attentions to this and lose yourself if only for a small moment in time.

Last month we posted THE WRITERS BLOCK latest, “She’s A Freak.” When Miami resident, ROBBIE RIVERA, heard the promo he reached out asking to remix the tune. The result is a low slung cut that’s equally at home in big room parties and deep underground.

Both the original and the remix above are now available on beatport, with pre-orders on iTunes available as well.

Fat! Records has a bit of history behind them. Following a brief hiatus, head honcho relaunched the imprint in 2010 with a release from FOAMO, aka Kye Gibbons. You may recognize the name as being one half of GORGON CITY. It was this release that some could speculate launched Kye’s reputation as a producer to watch. The “Jookie / Centavo” double single was followed by a trio of successful singles in 2011, which included “Celestial,” “Ocean Drive” and “Vibrations.”

Fat! just released a retrospective, appropriately titled, Hits, from Foamo to either reminisce or get you up to speed on what half of Gorgon City was up to a few years ago. It includes the 2012 “Rumours EP” and remixes from MY NU LENG and KRY WOLF, which were also featured on the “Sherlock Remixes EP” in 2013. Forget the fact that these tunes are two years old, they’re still total fire. Oh, and they’re available for free download.

Take a listen to the entire retrospective here:

This Remix by Pretty Lights of Five Knives ‘Savages’ was made for a Red Bull remix contest. It’s fair to say Pretty Lights was the one artist that got me into the Ghetto Funk, Glitch Hop sound many moons ago.

In my personal opinion, this is one of the best remixes i’ve heard among his many many releases with trademark PL Beats, Bassline and tech remix wizardry not to mention phenomenal sounding strings as ever… it has it all.

Give or take a few, pretty much the entire Pretty Lights discography can be obtained for free at http://prettylightsmusic.com. If you’re not familiar with this artist or his label & or his label mates I strongly suggest you check it out.

A new album from Griz ‘Say It Loud’ for sure, it really does! Recording & sampling sounds from across the United States.

“From funk jam sessions to children’s choirs, trumpet solos in the forest to saxophone lines in the boiler room of my house – it is an album for everyone. This music is meant to be experienced, danced to, sang along with, felt… that’s what it’s all about”. – GRiZ

With features & appearances from the likes of Mike Avery, Sunsquabi and Manic Focus, The Floozies, Talib Kweli & more this really is an electric bag of electro funkiness.
