Friend Within-Holyday (Iva Re-Dub)
Stop what you’re doing, stop everything and get a load of this! Iva’s back on the ward with this re-dub of ‘ The Holiday ‘ by Friend Within and by god it’s good! Old skool vibes reign supreme with plenty of 808 goodness, piano and along with the vocals from the original this is in the realms of being a Summer anthem. Now, we know that term gets branded around a lot this time of year but Summer anthem this is! Just see for yourself.

His work has gotten him plays on major radio stations like BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, Kiss FM and Rinse FM. RAFA ORTEGA: DRIFT MODE [UNT RECORDS]

Fellow Manalogue contributor JOHN NORMAN recently took the helm of the Spanish imprint UNT Records. Since doing so the label’s prominence has been slowly rising among the techno ranks. The latest release from UNT will help with that climb.
Coming from an emerging Spanish producer, RAFA ORTEGA, “Drift Mode” brings the hammer for the late night crowd. Built on booming kicks, the percussion is balanced by subtle, yet playful abstract noodlings.
John Norman serves on remix duty with a version that’s equally as dark as the original. Taking the percussive elements slightly deeper, the remix serves as another chapter in a late night tale for those who like to dance with their eyes closed.

Mixtape Monday Madness! Filthy Mitts – Cold Get Ill & Funkee Wadd – Shindig weekender (Free DL’s)

Filthy Mitts – Cold Get Ill
Every now and again a mix pops along that demands attention. If you own a pair of turntables, enjoy multi genre mixing and have respect for the art of turntablism…Look no further.
Two fella’s from Devon aka Mix Masta Mullet and DJ Madbeats, equal Filthy Mitts. They’ve produced a mix how I used to remember them. Reminiscent of Q Bert’s demolition pumpkin tape and Dj Babu’s Comprehension. Fast paced, head nodders with oodles of technical cuts, executed with finesse. If anything I’d say this mix will be more appealing to the current culture due to it’s fast pace, floor fillers and live remixes.
Featuring over 56 tracks in as many minutes, it’s a fast-paced audio assault, spanning multiple genres and including a load of original routines, mashups and edits.
It’s already getting heat from being reposted/tweeted by Krafty Kuts, JFB, DJ Vadim, Woody and more
If you only put one mix on your walkman this summer, make it this one!
Enjoy, it’s a belter!

Funkee Wadd – Shindig weekender Set
When you attend a busy festival or event, you hopefully meet people from all walks of life, different countries and cultures, who are all there for the same thing…Music.
I had the pleasure of chilling with this funky little Canadian whilst catching some rays with Shaka Loves You. His knowledge and passion for the scene made me instantly like him, even more so when he started jamming on the harmonica! We chilled all weekend. He was a dope, positive guy with nothing but love to give. I was kicking myself for missing his set on the Sunday. This rainy Monday, my Soundcloud feed shone a ray of light through my computer screen as I realised, I was going to spend the next hour getting down, to what I was kicking myself for missing last Sunday. Big up’s Kyle, look forward to chilling again son.

Genetix & Oslo – ‘Tyson Fury / Shotgun’ – Passenger Records
Genetix will be a name that’s very well known in the Dubstep world but what maybe less well known are their roots that lie deep in the Drum n Bass scene. They have come together with, Oslo, an artist that you’ll be more familiar with that goes by the name of, Aquasky! With all the familiarities over with and everything taken into account regarding the sounds they bring to the table, get set for two of the heaviest Drum n Bass tracks out there right now!
As the titles of the two tracks suggest, there is danger ahead. The first track ‘ Tyson Fury ‘ is a beast! If you think getting a solid bop on the snout off the boxer with the same name would do damage wait till this one reigns down on you! And likewise with ‘ Shotgun’, get ready for a blast of D n B that’ll blow you away with the added pleasure of still be alive after it’s gone off!
Accompanying this 2 track EP is a free mix from the guys as they get to express the sound they which they create havoc with when playing out. Find that with the two tracks posted above.
Buy the ‘ Tyson Fury / Shotgun ‘ here from Beatport.

DJ Hero – The Beginning, Parts 1, 2 & 3 and Bonus Mix
Dj Hero has put together this three part mix series titled ‘ The Beginning ‘ as 2015 sees him celebrate 2o years under the name of Dj Hero. The idea behind these mixes is to look back on the music that was so inspirational to him when he was setting out on his journey into the big wide musical world. The music on offer from these mixes is all before 1998 so as you can imagine there’s quite an old skool vibe going on with plenty of Trance, House and Breaks all strung together on an Acid tip!
