Your daily source of breakbeat, dubstep, electro swing, ghetto funk music.

Surge’s ‘Deep Inside’ is a classy rolling tech/deep house crossover track with that classic house vibe, great vocals and real old skool pads, Audio Jackers turn in a dope remix too, along with 2 great versions comes a third which we favour, Lamont Dex’s slick 2 step garage remix feels like it has been plucked right out of 1998, a warm soulful vibe, slick beats and organs, takes us right back to the days of Dem 2, Dream Team & The Wideboys, absolutely sublime, a quality release all round!!

Ninja Cutz is a new label with a mission intent to showcase the intelligent Jungle Tekno sound of the early 90’s, for release No1 which is coming soon and will be exclusively available via the Ninja Cutz website followed by Beatport later on, Mystery & Kosine drop some ‘Ninja Bizness’, a ruffneck junglist riddim that seems to have made it’s way out of a die hard oldskool vinylist’s record box, breakneck funky drummer beats, chest thumping subs and a deep ambient drop, a real crowd pleaser for the big raves. Remixes come from DJ Exodus who keeps things close and faithful to the original, Vinyl Junkie & Sanxion who go for a more DnB/Jungle flava and Stormski’s super dope Demon Boyz style old skool U.K Hip Hop/proto hardcore re rub, we’ll keep you posted on release details but in the meantime, check the clips below and follow them on facebook to stay in the loop.

Featurecast needs no introduction to the LSM family having featured many times before on the ward with his awesome music. The Gaff however has somehow only been featured once back in 2013, so it’s a long awaited return to another dude who lives for the joy that only Funk n Soul brings. Born in Washington, home of Fort Knox Five and then moving to Canada, a country that loves all things Funk as much as any, he has honed a sound that’s right up there with the best of em!

After playing a gig together fairly recently the guys got chatting about music and their love of Stevie Wonders work, in particular his track ‘ Hey Love ‘. They figured the world needed an edit of the track and after some flat out work they created ‘ Ain’t Got Time ‘, which turns out to be a blend of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and some De La Soul sounds. For a full explanation click HERE to read The Gaff’s history on the roots of this exquisite creation!

Ready yourselves for an absolute gem of a track with some proper old skool, classic Funk with fat newer skool beats and of course, some of the most soulful vocals the world has ever seen! Enjoy!

Ok so Father Funk takes time away from his busy schedule of pruning his tache, rocking a bigger gold chain than Ugly Ducklings Young Einstein, smashing festival slots and generally being a legend to drop this free number on you all.

It’s a remix of funk legends Ohio Players funktastic tune “Love Rollercoaster” – this one has been smashing it in his sets at the moment and he was feeling generous so he’s unleashed it on the world!

If you’d like to see him dropping this and a wealth of other FF Bangers on the festival circuit come catch him at:

June 11th-14th Eden Festival, Scotland
June 24th-28th Glastonbury Festival, Somerset
July 3rd-5th Green Meadows Festival, Peterborough
July 10th-11th The Bolt Hole, Shropshire
July 17th-19th The Beat-Herder Festival, Lancashire
July 24th-26th Motion Notion Festival, Canada

Last week HKPP’s Morphosis and DJ B-Side headed out to Italy to play at ‘Artisti in Piazza – International Buskers Festival‘ held in the picturesque medieval village of Pennabilli in the Province of Rimini, located about 140 kilometres southeast of Bologna. When they arrived it quickly became apparent the Italians were loving a bit of Drum & Bass so being the obliging chaps they are proceeded to rinse it out in the only way they know how. Morphosis took the liberty of recording his set on the monday night and has submitted it as his latest Littlesouth.com Podcast which is now available on Mixcloud and Soundcloud.

Debut time on the ward as we bring you Norwegian dj / producer, Blowshitup and judging by the sounds he has on his Soundcloud page, it’s an artist you’re likely to hear a lot more of from us here at LSM. Ghetto Funk, Electro and Hip Hop are his current styles of choice which makes him sit very nicely in our list of favourite funksters.

Blowshitup’s remix of ‘ All About It ‘ by Imagine This is the perfect introduction to his work. Sleazy, greasy Hip Hop Funk is what he has for you here that runs a head nodding friendly 100bpm. Get to know this and his other work on the usual links below. Highly recommended tuneage!
