BORDERTOWN: ALL THIS BEFORE (REMIXES PART 1) [LOVE & OTHER]

Back in April we posted BORDERTOWN‘s debut for Love & Other. We’re late in the game to share the remixes from the single. I hope it’s not too late to spread the word for one of this summer’s top EPs.
JACK RITCHIE aka BEARCUBS re-contextualizes the entire vibe of the tune, transforming the original’s moodiness into a tropical affair.
As VOLAC‘s remix title suggests, he chugs out a 90s-esque, garage-inspired, house number. As hard as it might be to pick out a standout remix, this is likely it.
There’s a second remix package coming out at the end of the month as well, which is a decidedly bassy affair.

Underheadz- Livin’ Large [Anonymous Records U.K]

WASABI & TERRY LEX: SUNSHINE PEOPLE [ERASE RECORDS]

One of the things I love most about Erase Records is their ability to cover the breadth of house music. From disco to vocal to bass to g-house, the imprint doesn’t discriminate. Their latest does this in one track.
WASABI who is also the label’s head honcho, and Terry Lex teas us with a massive vocal breakdown (delivered by Ava June) only bring the energy up to stomping levels. “Sunshine People” basks in warmth throughout the track but it’s pretty obvious that tune, with its massive bassline, is better served in the dark of night.
Watch for the release to drop Monday, June 15.

TBT 46 – Karl Sav – Elevate Nightclub, Dehli India 2004
We’re throwing back some 11 years for this weeks TBT feature with a pillar of the Breakbeat scene and all round top dude, Karl Sav. This mix was recorded at ‘ Elevate ‘ in Delhi and it’s uniqueness left a huge impression on Karl. A club that sits at the top of a big department store with a risen dance floor with the sub bass built into it and the sound system was designed and upkept by the same person/company that did Fabric’s immense system in London. What a cracking place that sounds to party!
The mix itself is just under 3 hours long and takes you from the gorgeous flowing Progressive Breaks and builds into some more feverish sounding Breaks. Plenty of favourites to pick out along the way too. Sheer class as always from Karl Sav!
With this mix in mind keep an eye out tomorrow for our ‘ 10 Mixes For The Weekend ‘ feature. There’s another classy lineup of artists with of course a varied but quality selection of music.
