RICK DYNO – CONVICTED EP

UNT Records have returned from a brief summer’s hiatus with a bang, bringing a stunning two-track EP from rising Dutch artist RICK DYNO. We’re proud to bring you the premiere of the release hot on the heels of some heavy support in advance, including play on SPARTAQUE’s podcast last week, and in the Subdivision Global Radio show this week, not to mention support from Pepellino, Anti-slam & W.E.A.P.O.N., Flipside, Paco Osuna, John Norman, Nihil Young, and more.
We had the chance to do a quick Q&A with Rick about the release and his work on UNT in advance of the release.
1. Tell us a bit about your path to UNT? What makes you excited to join the UNT family?
I know John Norman from a few years back. We played at an ADE event and I was just starting with producing at that time. He gave me a couple tips that were very useful. Now, a few years later, I am getting more and more satisfied with my productions and dared to send a couple tracks to UNT. These tracks will now be released on UNT, so I am very happy about that.
2. What inspired these particular tracks?
I get my inspiration from listening to music in particular. So I mean not only techno or tech house, but also from random music I hear on the radio.
3. You’ve been a busy guy this year… any gigs or releases you want to share?
I have a gig here on the 19th of September near my own little city and I am really looking forward to that.
I recently have an ep released called The Opportunity on Minds Of Sin that I am really proud of, and I have remixed a track for Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N. that will come later this year. I have many other tracks coming the following months, so just keep an eye open on all download portals!!
You can check out this deep, driving, groovy Techno EP below ahead of it’s September 28th release date:

No Quarter (Perpetual Present Remix)
Perpetual Present, is a UK based producer who melts together psychedelic elements into heavy Breaks and dirt fuelled Techno. This track posted, a remix of Led Zepplin‘s classic track ‘ No Quarter ‘ falls right into the heavy Breaks bracket with that psychedelic techy edge. It’s a bit of a beast this one with a weighty kick to it and the perfect reason to throw some shapes to a legendary Rock band!

Motivbreaks- Save Me Tonight [VIM Breaks]

Its time for some pure 1992 style hands in the air oldskool hardcore from Motivbreaks with a nice arrangement of classic breaks and a vocal that tells us to ‘Light Up The Sky’, from the lush pianos to the Family Foundation style breakdown (Google Family Foundation ‘Express Yourself’) this has the hair standing up on my arms and neck even as I write, while the remixes are great by Alt A & a ‘bass breaks’ mix, its all about the 92 oldskool revival mix, I could listen to this all day!!!
