Breakbeat can be classified into so many sub genres now. Breaks, Rave, Bass, Ghetto Funk, etc, the list is endless really. I put this mix together to highlight the general Breaks scene sound of now and the way it’s heading towards the future. There’s some new yet to be released material, edits i specially made for this mix and dare i say it a more experimental side of the Breaks sound.

Who likes smoke machines? Everyone likes smoke machines! New York’s Ursula 1000 teams up with MC bcap to deliver an ode to this glorious device. Wait, are we talking about dry ice? Yeah… sure! Ursula 1000 is a longtime Fort Knox Five collaborator, both in the studio and in the DJ booth. Smoke Machine features vocalist bcap whose lyrics and soul are fused with a futuristic electro groove. Ursula 1000’s original mix is a quirky, synth-laden house stomper that takes you on a sleazy, sinister beat trip where bcap spits out the lyrical while keeping it mystical. Venezuelan born dj / producer, Fernan Dust, takes his main influences from his home land of funky, Latin based House music. Now after basing himself in Germany, he is picking up on the Tech and Deep House sounds of Berlin. Merging all those sounds together, along comes this remix of  ‘ Freedom ‘ from the super cool, Jimi Hendrix. It’s a funky, deep and driving take on the original with a slight Disco twist that’ll leave you only wanting to get your funky strut on! Great work indeed!
