MDE collab with The Ragga Twins for Tech Bass Banger ‘Move It Up’ on Get Twisted Records- one for the ravin cru! Oldskool ravers know and love The Ragga Twins. The iconic duo played a huge part in the 90s rave scene with their own tracks and through lending their distinctive vocals to countless rave, jungle, DnB and fidget/dirty house classics.

MDE enlisted the vocal support of these rave veterans for ‘Move It Up’  on the Get Twisted imprint, a track with plenty of 90s rave nostalgia embedded into the banging up to date Tech Bass beats. MDE return to their My Digital Enemy days here with a high energy tune perfect for high energy DJ sets!

For us here in the UK though, we can use this sizzling selection of hotties to warm our bones once the cold times arrive on our shores. Back in the early 2000’s mates of mine Andrew Edwards & Ian Gordon commonly known now as the Beatslappaz ran a forum based community for Breaks called Soundbreaks, a Perth based forum where we could all hang out and basically talk shit about each other and music. The forum gained a worldwide reach with various like minded people, artists and DJ’s alike.

Yet another mix from yesteryear this time from the Guru of Breaks, Krafty Kuts. One of the most influential people in the electronic music scene today with experience as a DJ / Producer for more than a decade. Never one to be tied down to a defined genre Krafty has mixed it with the best and has crafted (pardon the pun) the breaks scene in to what it is today. Many artists have come and gone over the years but Krafty is still here leading the way !

Krafty Kuts, real name Martin Reeves, is the multi-award winning DJ/producer and the undisputed King of breaks. Acclaimed in the UK, adored in Australia, admired in North America, Krafty is a living legend of electronic music. His multi-genre sets, dexterity on the decks and dedication to dance floor hedonism have earned him hierarchy status in every genre of electronic music.

From humble beginnings, Krafty Kuts is now one of the big players on the world’s club scene. An enviable career which boasts accolades ranging from eight times Breakspoll Winner, Best International DJ and Best Single of the Year by DJ Mag, and DJing alongside The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and even the Rolling Stones.

This mix was recorded LIVE at Future Sound Of Breaks (Winter Music Conference), Miami in March 2008.

The original members of the Freestylers are Matt Cantor and Aston Harvey who started off their musical careers in the mid 1990’s. They released their first two albums ‘We Rock Hard’ and ‘Pressure Point’ on the legendary Breakbeat label Freskanova. The third and forth albums ‘Raw as F**k’ and ‘Adventures in Freestyle’ were released on ‘Against The Grain’ another Breaks power house based label. Their last album from 2013 ‘The Coming Storm’ was released through Black Hole Recordings.

The Freestylers began their career as an Urban Electronic Music Act, and their early tunes ‘B-Boy Stance,’ ‘Ruffneck’ and ‘Warning’ set the marker. As their music progressed so did their anthems with the seminal tunes ‘Punks’, ‘Boom Blast’, ‘Fasten Your Seat-Belts,’ ‘Painkiller’ and more recently ‘Cracks.’ In addition to their status as underground heroes, they have gained commercial success with their huge global hit ‘Push Up’ and have had their music featured in TV and film, including the hugely successful comedy film Zoolander.
