Although, Coco Cole may well be a new name to us and some of you, this lady won’t be if you’re a listener to one of London’s top radio stations, Capital Xtra. Even though, Coco is a new name to us, she holds quite a glowing report card. At 21, Coco had landed a key role at, Black Butter Records and with six shows across the week on, Capital Xtra, one of them being the all important warm up to the weekend show on Friday evenings, she has been described as a “vital cog in the machinery of UK Dance” by, Mixmag. She has played for, Carl Cox and Maya Jane Coles and also smashed it at the, Secret Garden Party festival (UK). 

Due to the success of her radio shows, Coco has built a very trustworthy platform to bring listeners not only familiar names but also some future stars in the making, which is exactly what her ‘Say Yes’ compilation series is here to do, raise awareness of undiscovered talent. And what an array of talent we have being brought our way! Seven outstanding free tracks of Deep / Tech House and Techno with music coming from, Timanti, BOY, Shoot The Ghost, Waxman, Paola Cantachin and Ireen Amness. The compilation also features a track from, Coco herself, which is her first adventure into the world of production and sees her collaborate with, Barber.

It seems that everything this lady touches turns to gold right now so the news that there is the foundations of a label be laid by, Coco, can only mean even more top music will be out there for us to all enjoy. We’ll certainly be keeping our eyes peeled for Vol.3 of the ‘Say Yes’ series but in the meantime get stuck into Vol.2 and after that check out the ten free tracks from Vol.1 below too. What a feast!

Time for a full dose of old skool flavour as, HUD aka House of Dice, picks another all time favourite rave classic of his to rework for today’s dance floor needs. The track he’s chosen is ‘Different Strokes by, Isotonik, a 90’s rave anthem if ever there was one. It’s been fixed up with a more modern bassline but all the vital elements of the original are in place to once again make this a track that demands you to raise those hands! Lots of newness going on in this post! In A Box Records, are very much in their infancy as they’ve only just lit the touch paper on their new adventure on the 1st of January this year. Their aim is to push modern sounding music and the promising stars of the future which is backed up by their debut EP release ‘The Baddest’ by UK based, CUB, a dude who himself appears to be just getting off the mark and what a way to start!

The title track of the EP by, CUB, is an ultra solid slab of Bass House. This one will sit alongside tracks by the main players of the scene and not sound out of place at all! An old skool break being driven on by a feisty attitude and you’ve got a track that deserves it’s time to shine on the dance floor!

CUB’s track ‘The Baddest’ is accompanied by three cracking remixes. Inkline, throws in a large helping of the classic Amen Break while, DopekidJay, approaches the borders of Tech House with his remix. Fin Evans rounds things off by adding some old skool piano in his remix for that retro feel. All in all, a fine selection of music and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for this digital imprint and the artists they bring us.
