Oooft! Slynk, returns to the ward with one seriously hefty chunk of Glitchy Funk! The title of the track ‘Gorilla On The Floor’ could well be used to describe the drop on this one, it’s a bit of a beast! An intro of funky distorted electric guitar and vocoder style vocal leads you into that drop, and then on to a wave of slick beats bass and fx. Slynk’s up to his old tricks once again, by making us want to dance!

Aaron King aka, AK, is one half of the award winning duo, Se7en Deadly Breaks. You may have caught a mix from Jake aka, Ensision that we brought you a couple of weeks ago, but if not, the guys have decided to step out the 7DB box and investigate their own personnel tastes. 7DB are very much still together but the interest in exploring new things is where they are at right now.

AK’s mix we have for you is bursting at the seams with supercell structured basslines across the Breaks, Garage, House & Dub genres. You might think after the short intro that you’re in for a Hip Hop mix with a sneaky use of ‘A to K’ by, Cypress Hill but that soon gives way to ear catching tracklist of quality tunes and our good buddy, bass! We can confirm your Friday beats are locked and loaded and we can also confirm that if this was a game of scrabble, we’d have been out of ‘A’s’ and ‘K’s’ a long time ago. Enjoy!

Like millions of people around the world, the passing of the musical legend, David Bowie, was met with an intense sadness which was felt here on the ward too. We may be a ‘Life Support Machine’ but there’s nothing we can do against that nasty bastard, cancer!

On a much brighter note though, David Bowie’s passing inspired many music makers to sit down and create their own personnel tribute to the great man. UK Ghetto Funk producer, DJ Roast Beats is one of those music makers who felt the sadness and turned it into a positive by releasing this mashup, using the sparkling instrumental of ‘Sound and Vision’ by, David Bowie and the lyrics from ‘2 Da Good Tymz’ by, Big Daddy Kane and then adding chunky funky broken beats. The track was made a while ago but after a revamp it’s back sounding fresher than ever in it’s new ‘soul soothing’ form and we’re very pleased about that!

“Bad Bassline”, from Stormin's upcoming new album Heart N Soul remixed!

Needing no introduction, the Londoner is a major name in the UK dnb scene, having captured the attention of many.

Stormin's getting ready to embark on a tour with his Drum & Bass collective SASASAS.

With "X-Tra Bad Bassline" Rhythm Rollers sees Ghosty, who under various different names has previously released music on DC Recordings, TwerkOut Records and Rotary Tower, on the remix duties for Stormin's Bad Bassline.

With remixes for Warp Records, Underscan and Fort Knox Recordings under his belt, Ghosty serves up a solid stream of unique remixes of Bad Bassline. Kicking off the EP with a UK Garage vocal and instrumental mix with great finesse. Next Ghosty steps into the 4/4’s arena for banging bass house remix that will topple speaker stacks round the globe. Last but not least the Substep version, a twist on the traditional Dubstep, slows down the pace with a serious appeal to the deep and dark realms of UK underground music.

3000 Deep, the sister online imprint of, 3000 Bass, bring us music that as you might guess, is very much on the deeper side of things. From Deep House to Deep Tech and Deep Disco, all the deeps are covered here!

One of their most recent releases sees them bring us what is a stunning free four track EP from a relatively unknown French, House producer by the name of, Nikizi. ‘My Chain’ and ‘Get Away’, the first two tracks off the EP bring the highest energy out of the four with a dusty vibe and foot shuffling beats. ‘Te Quiero’ and ‘More Money More Problems’ offer some real deepness, giving off a warming, fuzzy glow. With music as good as this the ‘relatively unknown’ tag shall be banished forever!

The back story behind this particular edit from, WheresNorth?, is quite simple. He loved the track but needed a copy of it that would fit his a style when played out, so he went about his work and created this Jeykll and Hyde rework. Jeykll being the tear-out bass and industrial Acid Techno vibe laid over raw broken beats which in two places gives way to, Hyde and the serenity of gorgeous strings that are reminiscent of those found in, The Prodigy‘s ‘Weather Experience’. Another sure fire weapon from, WheresNorth?, to get the dance floor lively!
