Meat Katie aka Mark Pember is an electronic musician who was one of the pioneering artists in the Tech Funk genre a combination of Techno, Tribal, Breakbeat & House music. Around the time of this mix Meat Katie managed a label with Dylan Rhymes called LOT49 a place where he and other artists such as Dopamine, Kid Blue, Vandal, Odissi, Elite Force and Lee Coombs homed the Tech Funk type of sound.

ILS known as Illian Walker started his music production career on LTJ Bukem’s drum & bass label Good Looking Records under the name of Axis. In 2002 he was picked up by Adam Freeland’s label Marine Parade due to his unique style of producing breakbeat music. In the same year he released his acclaimed album Soul Trader (through Marine Parade) with his top hit of that time “6 Space (Next Level)”.

This rare mix from the Annie on 1 (Annie Nightingale) show is a showcase of tracks that he has produced.

The Crystal Method was formed in Las Vegas by Ken Jordan & Scott Kirkland back in the early 1990’s. Considered pioneers of the Big Beat genre The Crystal Method’s music has appeared in numerous TV shows, films, video games and advertisements. Their album Vegas was certified Platinum in 2007.

This mix was recorded LIVE in San Francisco by Boombox 34 on New Years 2007.
