Andy Beck March Promo Mix
Th
Andy Beck is the real name of A.B.S who many will know as a great musician, remixer and DJ of more breaks oriented music but he has now ditched that title to go with his real name to show his revitalised love of all things techno. This is his latest promo mix and you should have a listen if you:
A) Like techno
B) Like it hard
C) Like it dirty
D) Have an hour’s journey to make and want to bop around (this works I can vouch for it)
E) Like music
F) Are human
G) Any other reason really
This mix is truly a world tour of the current state of techno. Starting with the electro feel of Ireland’s Sian‘s “Pause” the mix slides into 2 tracks from Popof’s French Form Music label and drives on like a never ceasing jet engine called techno through tracks by the Australian Barbuto, more French in Matt Minimal. Before stopping by in Israel for a visit to Brisker and Magitman with their outstanding record from last year ‘Remote’ we head off to Canada to drop in on John Acquaviva and back to the UK for a couple of stormers on Leeds’ Respekt label (so much good stuff coming from here) from Gary Burrows and the mighty (x2) Spektre with Chicago Loop - what a meeting of tech minds that is. Julien Jewell invites us back over to France by way of Germany with Oliver Huntemann - another great collab – and off again to Australia with another from Barbuto and a visit to Berlin for the percussive sounds of Kaiser Souzai before coming back to the UK with Phutek and a hint of old school techno. The whole mix never rests so be prepared for so much head bopping you could end up in a neck brace.
