140 Jungle, Bass & DnB Round Up 27.1.14
Time for some fresh bangers in the 140 & DnB scene, first up is new tunage from the South Coast’s finest, Kode 5 who have 2 releases out currently, Mark C’s twisted voyage into old skool ‘ardcore ‘Mind Warp’ for those who like it full on!!!
Then we have some 94 style Jungle vibes from a new and very promising artist known as Billy No Mates, ‘Crowd Burst’ and ‘My Soul’ are both fine examples of great drum editing, layered breaks and deep sound that rose from the ashes of the darkcore sound of 1993. serious props to Kode 5 for continuously showcasing new and fresh artists and reminding us that even after almost 25 years, rave may be a microcosm of its glory days but its far from dead and always seems ready to explode back into the overground any time soon, this really is a must have EP and one of the label’s finest releases to date
Lucas makes a welcome return on his Top Drawer Digital imprint with a 3 track EP that stays true to his roots, namely the dark J-Tek sound of the mid 00′s which saw the beginning of this pioneering label but with a fresh Future Junglistic twist, suitably macabre sounds are the order of the day here and we are lovin’ it!!!!
Fans of the Footwork/Juke/Ghetto Bass sound absolutely must go and get this multi genre bass compilation ‘Soldiers Vol 3′ that includes downtempo and DnB tracks among the quality footwork rollers on offer from the likes of The Renegades, Fishtix, Golab & Weird, Graphs and many more, production is solid through out the entire album with some truly fresh sounding beats to get your ears around
Also out today is the first release from Birmingham/Bristol based label ‘Born On Road’ set up by Aries & Kelvin 373 which features the vocal talents of Lion Art asking the question ’What in the world are they spraying?’, bolstered by 2 fine remixes for 140 & DnB/Jungle heads from Gold Dubs & Aries, Gold Dubs, bevan & Andy Smith
Strange Rollers is giving away a free LP of Future Jungle/Deep House/Downtempo remixes of warehouse days classics, follow the link to download the full LP
California multi genre bass don, Otter has dropped an exclusive free download for Future Jungle Blog, chilled liquid vibes give way for a 140bpm bass assault!!!!
And how about this for a banger of a DnB tune? featuring an array of Mcs, its like DnB’s answer to ’21 Seconds’ (Remember that one?) Do you like DnB? Do You? say it one more time!!!
