Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is very excited to start out the New Year by introducing a new artist to the label: Roast Beatz from London and residing on the South Coast. This one-man-army of street beats and turntablism is bringing a new flavor of soulful hip-hop jams to the ghetto funk scene. The Ghetto Soul EP features 2 brand new originals with smooth flows by Dizzy Dustin of Ugly Duckling and sweet soulful vocals by Kylie Earl & Crystal Carter. The package also comes with 2 groovy remixes by 2 of BBP’s favorite funky producers DJ Rudd & Tom Showtime.
Roast Beatz has been an active DJ for over 14 years now – sharing stage with legends like Redman and Method Man, Immortal Technique, Ice T, GZA, Afrika Bambatta as well as Rizzle Kicks, JFB, Ed Solo, A-Skillz and Krafty Kuts. Other than bringin’ hip hop, turntablism, funk and ghetto funk to crowds all over the globe, Roast Beatz has released tracks on Boogie Boutique, Booty Fruit & recently dropped the Heavy Ear Play EP on Riddim Fruit Records.
With the Ghetto Soul EP – BBP and Roast Beatz are showing a new organic soulful direction in the ghetto funk scene, that tend to get darker and more electric. Stay tuned for more EPs and a full-length album by Roast Beatz in 2014!
Roast Beatz is making it clear that Ghetto Soul is what we need to take things back on the ground – music that just makes us feel good and nod our head…
