One thing us music fans will not be short of this year, is a damn good album to listen to. We’ve featured quite a few here on the ward already and it’s time for yet another, with this one coming from the mighty, Featurecast. As you will notice, we only have three tracks here from his amazing new album ‘Shout It Out’ but hey, this is Featurecast, you know how he do.

Out of the three tracks posted you’ll find two that are what’s more commonly known in the game as ‘Featurecast bangers’. ‘Take It Down Low’ comes in heavy, heading towards the Glitch Hop side of things while ‘999’ comes in kicking hard with extra solid broken beats and also features the legendary, Ragga Twins. ‘Anticipate Nothing’ is the third of the tracks posted and if you’ve caught any of his releases on, Jungle Strikes, you’ll have an idea where this one is heading. A huge spine tingling intro leads you very nicely on to the always loved Amen Break, which then of course sees things take off massively.

Featurecast’s album is by no means full of bangers, even though there are few on it. He’s made a conscious effort to make each track stand out in it’s own way and branch out into different styles. You’ll find a majestic Liquid Funk feel to tracks like ‘Crazy’ and also ‘Head Noise’ with the latter of those just having a bit more bite to the beat. Also keeping things on a cooler vibe with slightly bigger beats is ‘No One’ which features the versatile vocal of, Greg Blackman, who can also be found applying his silky smooth tones alongside Australian Hip Hop producer/MC, Dfro on ‘Get On Through’. Dfro then goes solo on ‘Addicted’, applying his cool lyrical flow to some steazy beats.

The tempo and energy picks up with the rest of the tracks on the album and in particular the title track ‘Shout It Out’. For this one he’s teamed up with those lively lads from Canada that go by the name of, Illvis Freshly. As you might expect, being the title track, this one should just stand a little taller than the rest and that it does. A fusion of Rock and Hip Hop gives it a truly epic feel and leaves you with the decision, mosh or stomp? Whatever the choice, you’ll have a great time doing it!

Keeping the Hip Hop theme ticking along very nicely is ‘What You Want’ and sees Featurecast this time teaming up the Chicago based trio, Pugs Atomz, Wes Restless & Ill Legit. ‘Move’ is the highest tempo track on the album and can easily be tagged as a ‘Featurecast banger’. The last track out of the twelve to bring is one that can best be described as the ‘curve-ball’ on the album. It can be described that way as it’s a sound you might not normally expect from him because what you find is the most gorgeous Liquid Drum n Bass track. It’s one that he’s said is inspired and dedicated to his wife and once you listened to it, you can clearly see he really loves his lady.

We’re sure you’re gonna love this album just as much as us so follow the links below to get your hands on either physical copy on cd or buy and download it straight to you device of choice. You can also find an interview with Featurecast that he did for, Dr Hooka‘s ‘The Surgery’ radio show on NSB Radio where he divulges into the album more and talks about what makes him tick as a producer and DJ.
