Ragga Twins - Who Inspired You? [Passenger]
The Ragga Twins are a prestigious duo with a career going back to 1982 from Reggae sound systems to the summer of love through to the 90’s rave explosion and still going strong taking in so many sub genres, its hard to keep track. This retrospective LP celebrates 25 years of Flinty & Deman’s influence on the ever evolving rave scene and the strong bond built with Aquasky going back to the halcyon days of the Moving Shadow era. If it’s breaks you’re after then tracks like ‘Coffee’ featuring remixes from Deekline and Atomic Hooligan’s remix of ‘All In Check’ will satisfy that itch. If its rave breaks/garage/fidget then 601 colab ‘Soundbwoy Killa’ complete with a VIP, ‘Give It Up (Old Skool Style) and ‘Rule Dancehall’ with Rico Tubbs and remixed by none other than Manix are just a few thermonuclear heaters on this double LP. There’s DnB too, remixes from Genetix & Oslo on ‘Rule Dancehall’ and Liondub’s refix of ‘Dirty Entertainers. All this is just scratching the surface, there’s a rich history here. While many can claim Hip Hop owes them money, there’s no doubt the rave scene owes the Ragga Twins a debt money simply can’t pay. Grab both parts on iTunes
