SPUTNIK PARTY AT THE MANITOBA MUSEUM
Every April the world honours Yuri Gargarin, the first human in space. LOTEK and I do our part by co-hosting the dancey bits for a Yuri’s Night party at the Manitoba Museum.
We’re doing something similar to celebrate the anniversary of the Sputnik launch and World Space Week. The Sputnik Party will follow a similar trajectory as THE SHAKE, and special guest LAMBO, ignite the dance floor of the Manitoba Museum’s Planetarium. Once again inside the dome will be lit with visuals from two of the most talented visual artists I know: PIXEL PUSHER and TOXIC PROPHECY.
The evening will also feature special showings of Dawn of the Space Age. The Museum’s Sputnik will be on display – produced by the Soviets in the 1950’s. Additional displays and a cash bar in the science gallery will further rekindle curiosity for those wishing to get their science on with a drink in hand. As always, a space-themed costume contest gets bonus marks and gives you a chance to win cool prizes!
Tickets are $15 and includes free pizza, DJs, the planetarium show, and all the science fun you can handle.
