TBT 52 – MINIMAL – HardWaks feat Africa Islam

This weeks Throwback Thursday entry is an instantly recognisable tune in the world of Breaks and is a track that upon it’s release caused quite a stir across Europe. The track is of course ‘ Minimal ‘ by Lady Waks. Why did it cause a such a stir you may ask? Because at the time it gave a cheeky poke in the ribs to the low-key, simplistic form of Techno that was doing the rounds in the club scene. It was considered a bit of a joke track at the time but there’s no joking around with the fatness of the beats on offer and you can be 100% sure that anytime ‘ Minimal ‘ gets dropped at a Breaks night, it goes off, big time! It’s one of those tracks that will stand the test of time.
