LSM’s 10 Mixes For The Weekend
Well well well, look what we have here, it’s only the bloomin’ weekend and you know what that means, another 10 top mixes of various genres, for you, in the hope that one of them will accompany you too good times this weekend! This week we have Acid House from Zinc, Tech House from Wax Worx and RS63, a helping of Techno from Hans Bouffmhyre & Lex Gorrie, Breaks from Miss Mants, Psy-Breaks from Hedflux and MartOpetEr. Funky / Party Breaks by Renegades Of Jazz and Slinksta Records and Trip Hop beats from Paul Cheeba. Here we go..
This mix by, Zinc is outstanding! Why? Because it’s proper old skool Acid House, simple as that! This mix is part one of his ‘ Trust Me I Was There ‘ series and was spotted after it was uploaded again because of an issue with track Sony owned. The series has cracked on to episode 22 now but this one shone out like a lighthouse in the dark and deserves every second of your time! A great way to kick things off.
Another one of Brighton’s hottest talents is House music lover, Wax Worx. He brings us this very tasty mix of Tech House cuts which features his own brand new track ‘ All Night Thing ‘ and plenty more hot exclusives. It’s a mix that gives you a sweet taster as to what to expect from him in his live sets. One not to miss if you see, Wax Worx on a lineup! Get the tracklist HERE.
Our second helping of Tech House comes from Tiger Rag Club’s latest podcast as they present German duo, RS63. These guys may sound like a fancy beefed up Audi and rightly so as the music they have for us is executed with the finest precision and is of the very best quality. A one hour ride that’ll have you disappearing off into the sunset with the warmest of smiles.
Scottish Techno loving siblings and owners of Sleaze Records, Hans Bouffmhyre and Lex Gorrie, took themselves to play at ‘ La Cheetah ‘ for a home town gig in Glasgow. It’s known worldwide that the people of Scotland know how to party and this one will have gone off no doubt with the pulsating and upfront Techno sounds that were laid down that night. Top stomping business here!
Estonia’s first lady of Breaks, Miss Mants, is one of the latest artists to have been invited on to Lady Waks radio show. A consistent stream of superb mixes comes from that show as I’m sure you will know and Miss Mants has kept the bar well and truly high with her mix for the show. It kicks off from the word go with heart racing pace. Big beats from Miss Mants, top stuff! Get the tracklist HERE.
It’s been quite some time since Hedflux has put out a mix and this one just happens to be the first live mix he’s ever released. It was recorded at ‘ Sunrise ‘ in Leeds and features his trademark blend of highly energetic Psychedelic Breaks and Trance. Leeds would have been bouncing to this! Tracklist HERE.
Our second dose of Psy-Breaks n Bass comes from French producer / dj, MartOpetEr. This mix is a selection of Aprils biggest sounds supporting some of the best labels of the genre. If psychedelic madness is your thing make this one yours! Get the tracklist HERE.
If you just so happen to be a B-boy or B-girl go grab your lino and get this mix by, Renegades Of Jazz, pumping out of your ghetto blaster ready to throw down some of freshet moves. Like myself and many others I can only watch in jealousy as those dancers do their thing but with music this good watching and listening becomes a very pleasurable experience!
Australian, Slinksta Records, serve up their April mix with a collection of Downtempo / Nu-Funk tracks. Starts off steady but the energy grows as the mix goes on with a full on groove throughout. An awesome tracklist which you can find HERE.
With all the energy that has gone before, Paul Cheeba pops up again on this feature with a glowing mix of Trip Hop, Nu-Disco and House. This is a fine choice of mix to see you through the time when the sun rises, sometimes unexpectedly and is equally adapt for an afternoon chill session. Much love for this on the ward!
So there’s your 10 mixes. A variety of sounds we hope you enjoy. Have a great one!
