Your daily source of breakbeat, dubstep, electro swing, ghetto funk music.

It’s been over a decade now since any new material has been released by Bristol duo, Decoder & Substance. These guys have not only ‘ been there, done it, got the t-shirt ‘ but they have got the pants and socks to match! They were a massive part of the mid-nineties Bristol scene, they have run a label, a record shop and if you’re still not to sure if you’ve heard of them or not you’ll more than likely know their band, the worldwide chart topping, Kosheen.

So with that in mind that’ll give you some idea as to what there Decoder & Substance are all about, Drum n Bass, but, a little more heavy and dirty than their chart music persona. Their new track ‘ Red ‘ is forged from their old skool roots with that recognisable drum loop, enchanting vocals from Susie Ledge and lyrical flow from Jakes. It carries a proper warehouse rave feel throughout and takes filth to a whole new level!

The original track is backed up by two very classy remixes, one from Document One and the other by LA’s, Kronology. Document One take a more liquid approach adding that element of funk that they like to do and Kronology strips the track right back for a rebuild that adds an extra twist of euphoria to it.

These tracks have been released on Technique Recordings and are available to buy from Beatport.

Thanks to On The Rise Promotions for hooking us up with this.
