601 TEAM UP WITH RAGGA TWINS FOR SOME

"DUTTY BASS"

A BANGER FULL TIGHT BREAKS N BASS

OVER THE SUPER SHARP CHATTER OF THE RAGGA TWINS

OUT NOVEMBER 4TH ON BEATPORT

Hot on the heels of their barn-storming, bass-bashed, rampant rave homage ‘Pixilate’, Harrogate bass scoundrels 601 deliver the second track from their long-awaited forthcoming album ‘We Do Bass’.

Their second long player, and first on Aquasky’s genre-defining imprint Passenger, it’s an extensive bass sensation, pushing the 140 template into unchartered creative territories with every body-slamming beat, deadly drop and razor-sharp hook. ‘Dutty Bass’ and ‘Stars’ are two of its 14 highlights, and there’s no better way to prepare yourself for the album’s imminent arrival…

‘Dutty Bass’ has the honour of opening the album. The moment you hear the dramatic air raid siren you’ll understand just why…

Presented by the distinctive rapidfire patter of the Ragga Twins Crew, their lyrical luxury complements every note of the chest-pressing bassline. It’s a scorching hypemonger, guaranteeing instant riotous rave behaviour. Turbo-charged breakbeats lead the groove as 601 showcase their low end repertoire. Twisting, turning and tearing through the flavours, just as you think you’ve got your head around the power of their production you’re shoved into a saw-toothed, amen-rich instrumental section. Best bass faces at the ready: this is one slice of next-level business, setting the confident, uncompromising tone for the entire album…

It also comes complete with an awesome interplanetary video from Kenny Frankland. An animated robot romp, it adds a whole new depth and narrative to an already killer track.

Next up is a very special remix of ‘Stars’ by none other than the Freestylers and StereoType. Two game-changing scene warriors, both London crews never disappoint, always keeping the dancefloor on their toes with switch-flipping vibes and untamed, energetic arrangements. This emotion-rich, anthemic version of ‘Stars’ is no exception. Bold strings and twinkling arpeggios a-go-go: their powerful rendition complements Roisin Brophy’s emphatic, loin-girding vocals perfectly while their brawny beats ensure total dancefloor submission. A candidate for the ultimate end-of-night crescendo, Freestylers and StereoType are bang on-point right here.

With a matter of weeks to go until the release of ‘We Do Bass’, 601 are swiftly becoming the most talked about act in the 140 realm. Previous support has been pledged by the likes of Diplo, Annie Nightingale, DJ Hype and Jaguar Skillz. Let’s add your name to that impressive tastemaker list…
