Monkey Tennis Group

There’s a new craze bubbling up within the breaks scene which goes by the name of Monkey Tennis.

So what is Monkey Tennis?

The idea is that one mix will be layed down by 3,4 or 5 DJ’s – This is not a new concept but in Monkey Tennis the DJ’s can be on complete opposite sides of the globe.

The first DJ will record his section and then ‘pass on’ the completed mix to the next DJ who will in turn mix his section onto the end and the chain continues until the mix is complete.

The idea was originally conceived by Neil Thompson AKA Breakneck and the Soundcloud group now has over 400 members.

One of the main reasons that DJ’s are so keen to get involved in the mixes is due to collective effort in promoting, with 4/5/6 DJ’s all pushing the same mix it’s easy for mixes to achieve an impressive number of plays, and it’s a good opportunity for producers to showcase new material.

As the concept has grown in popularity, increasingly bigger and more established names have been involved on MTG mixes with artists such as Beta, Under This, Beatslappaz, Kid Digital, Blacklist and many more all making appearances.
