In honour of my latest release “313″ on KMS Records, here’s my July Chart which features tunes from Detroit Artists and Labels, as well as tunes heavily influenced by the Detroit sound.

John Norman – 313 [KMS]
My latest release for Kevin Saunderson’s legendary label, and a tune I am extremely proud of. Check out this past week’s Drumcode podcast for support from Karotte for one of the remixes, too!

The Yellowheads – Submerged [Alleanza]
This is easily one of my favourite tunes right now. A great old school synth line atop a sharp snare and great percussion, and great vocal. What more could you want?

Sasha Carassi – Old Fashioned Lover [Phobiq]
Starting out with a nice hard drum kick and a piano line that just grows and grows, and again a solid house-inspired vocal, this is a solid party tune.

Inner City – Big Fun (Kevin’s E-Dancer Dub) [KMS]
The original is such an inspiring tune, and this version is just the perfect dark and dirty update. There isn’t a preview link to be found, so you’ll just have to head over to buy it.

Derrick May – Strings of Life [R&S]
This tune! Synths, piano, ticky-tack drums. An absolute classic and a tune you should be familiar with. Derrick is a legend.

Dykkon - Repulse [Drumcode]
Dirty and relentless, with a great acid line running through it, this is a fantastic late-night tune.

Infiniti aka Juan Atkins & Orlando Voorn – Game One [Tresor]
Juan Atkins & Orlando Voorn team up to give us this scorcher under the “Infiniti” alter ego for Tresor. It was a tough cal for me between the fantastic original, and the brooding Rennie Foster remix – both classic tunes re-released digitally in 2013.

Ray Kajioka – Strike [Kanzleramt]
I really love the space in this track, it feels like it fills many parts of your mind, and sounds killer on a big system. Sweet, dark and sexy techno.

Eddie Amador & Alex Costa – New Sound [KMS]
Alex Costa is an artist I’ve respected for awhile, so I was thrilled to see this promo come through my mailbox. A relentless detroit “new world sound from the underground” it just screams 4am warehouse business.

 Petter B – Imitate [H-Productions]
There is such forward propulsion in this tune, from the high hats, to the movement of the melodic line. Such energy!
