JiggyJoe - Exclusive Interview For Breakzlinkz + Free Tunes
JiggyJoe aka Sascha Peterson is a German born Dj / producer with a unique style for funk. Having played in various clubs around the world he has gained recognition with his peers and has mixed it up with some of the best in the electronic music scene today. JiggyJoe takes some time out from his busy schedule to have a chat to Breakzlinkz.
www.facebook.com/pages/JiggyJoe-DJ
Cheers the for interview JiggyJoe. Tell us a bit about yourself, who you are, where you are from ?
Hi Ross! My real name is Sascha Petersen, I´m 35 years old and I´m from Augsburg, Germany!
Do you have a musical background, what are your musical influences and how did you get into music production ?
I have been Djing for 13 years now. I came into music production after hearing the music from Featurecast, Fatboy Slim, A. Skillz and Ursula 1000 into my ears!
So what music have you been working on of late ? Any remixes or new tunes we should be looking out for in the future?
I've recently done a best of and remixes for Skeewiff and Calagad 13. At the moment i´m working on my first original album and a new mashup EP!
What led you to concentrate on the funky breaks side of things?
Nearly everything! When i´m in a good mood and i have a melody in my head!
What other artists do you look up to, have respect for and have influenced you ?
First at all BADBOE! He is the one who gaves me a chance to release my stuff!
Than Ursula 1000, Featurecast and A. Skillz, they inspire me! The Ghettofunk Crew, cause they brought the wobble to the Funk! Thank you Will and Slim for doing this!
Jayl Funk for listen to my stuff, give me good advices, be there for me and make me laugh!
Where do you get most of your music from ? Any particular stores or websites you frequent ?
I get my music from Soundcloud, Friends and Juno!
What would be your ultimate gig to play at ? With who and where ?
My ultimate gig would be playing at shambhala! Some of the best gigs i played at was Bushwacked Festival in Revelstoke, Orange Rooms in Southampton and Steptusin in St. Petersburg! I have already played along side with Featurecast, Basement Freaks, Badboe, Stickybuds. I'd really like to do a gig with A. Skillz and Slynk! With a little bit of luck i will play with Slynk in my town! I just wait for the word of my resident club!
What do you think of the music industry today and what / where do you think electronic music will be in the future?
Independent music will go better and better! The mainstream stuff is going down and down and takes influences of the indie sounds! Mainstream is and will be a money making machine! Its calculated music for the masses! Electronic music lives from new ideas and experiments! The is a lot space for new stuff!
What's instore for the future of JiggyJoe ?
There will be a new Mashup EP soon! And my first originals! 4 Tracks on vinyl! Together with Skeewiff, Jazz K Lippa, Claire G Phunk, Tatted Up Toon, Rayna MC and an Ursula 1000 Remix! And next Year my first full Album!

Since releasing their debut album on Fort Knox Recordings in 2011, NAPPY RIDDEM has been busy touring nationwide and releasing a string of remixes, transforming itself into an uplifting and conscious reggae band that is funky enough to pack the dancefloor. Started by Mustafa Akbar and Rex Riddem, NAPPY RIDDEM is now joined in the studio and on stage by drummer Jon Modell.
The Rock Steady EP contains four upbeat reggae tracks that represent NAPPY RIDDEM’s fresh new sound! The EP starts off strong with a track that shows the group is serious about the healing of the nation. “I Wish” is a deep and meaningful track that reaches the soulful depth of Mustafa Akbar’s vocals. The title track, “Rock Steady” oozes positivity with a groovy, rocksteady vibe, and features Rex Riddem on Ukulele and lead vocals. Keeping the dance vibe going is “Rastaman”, rudeboy defiance on top of an irresistible stepping beat results in pure fire! Closing out the EP is “Red Blood”, featuring Brittany Turner on additional vocals, a emotional ballad for the people, it is sweet and full of soul.
The Nappy Riddem sound has developed into its own brand of “Dancehall Funk” that moves bodies, hearts, and minds. The Rock Steady EP represents a new beginning for this exciting band from Washington, DC. Reggae for the dancefloor, messages for the people, and fresh beats for the heads.

Spinforth’s Biweekly SoundCloud Scour 91
Damn it..91 Scours later and it would appear that I’ve at last run out of ways of alternative ways of saying hello!? Oh well, I’ve gotten around it, let’s move on. Warm welcomes from myself (Spinforth) and my trustee blurb writing sidecarkick (Fat Harry) to this, your very latest..Spinforth’s Biweekly SoundCloud Scour #91.
Promised myself I’d only spend 5 minutes writing this boring bit up here this week, and I’ve already taken longer that thinking of a new way to say hello, so basically that’s pretty much it from me this week. Juuuust before hand you all over to FH though, here’s one final (..guaranteed, probably) shameless Spromo™ plug of recently released ‘Scoured Cream: Vol.03‘…especially for any avid Scour fans whom may have been holidaying under a rock for the last few weeks! It’s been a tremendous run of 3 weeks at the very top of Juno Download’s charts, (..all entirely thanks to YOU, and you, and you,and you, and yeah also you recurring), but at long last we’ve been very deservedly toppled by the mighty Skewiff (.featuring MC Rayna)’s ‘Ghetto Latin & Broken Ballroom LP‘! Congratulations to you dudes and dudette, took you long enough
but, I’m very happy to concede the title to you both, just for a little while at least. I trust my tail left that spot nice n warm for you!? Anyway, for anyone reading this whom hasn’t a clue what I’m talking about..I’m leaving this plain, yet somewhat fancy, SoundCloud player below in hope of picking up a few stragglers, and see if i can pull off another miracle. No harm in trying to keep this friendly little fight at the top of going eh!
Right, that’s me all Scoured out, time to hand you all over to Fat Harry for the necesary introductions!
Scour lover thumbers at the ready, aaaaand…
Enjoy! x
P.S. Keep up to date with all things ‘Scour’ via the Spinforth Facebook Page liking button below..

Huge thanks to DJ Chamber for stepping up to the blurbage plate for the last Scour #90, I think the term ‘Ogre’s Choad’ will stay with me forever. Big happy-ending, Godzilla sumo wrestling love to you fella!
SCOUR #91 EXCLUSIVE #1: Titan Sound‘s Selecta Demo invents the musical version of the telephonic device. How on earth have we existed as a species before this point?! Rodney P wrapped around a J-Star instrumental? Of course! We all slap our heads and realise how stupid we’ve all been. Eureka! Tune in next time, we hear he’s doing something dead wrong with breast milk… Biggups for the Scour exclusive sir..grab your copy via this very kindly donated >>100% SCOUR EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD LINK RIGHT HERE
Warm welcome to Scourgin™ Jabberwockk! More sass than Clint Eastwood in ‘The Good, The Bad, The Ugly’ He actually knocked on the door of Scour HQ in a poncho, cowboy boots and a cigarillo hanging menacingly from the corner of his mouth, I answered in my spiderman dressing gown, elmo slippers and chubba chops lolly in the corner of mine. We both stood there staring at each other with steely eyes whilst we fingered our weapons as the music from his silver pocket watch played out…then we fist bumped, high fived and spent the day watching musicals, proving once again, that no one can stay angry in a poncho. Welcome to The Scour! ALTERNATIVE DOWNLOAD LINK REQUESTED/AVAILABLE ON SOUNDCLOUD/IN TRACK DESCRIPTION. 84bpm ▼
I love this ‘gentle easement into the Scour’ we’ve got going on. Alific keeps it on the down low, with this specially arranged freebee taken from his brand new LP ‘Echoes From The Soul‘..which is great! Unfortunately it appears we’re all under arrest, Boooo! Unless he’s a snooker player and we’re actually under a rest, or he’s been hanging out with Rocket Ronnie O’Sullivan and been throwing a few frames here and there in which case we could be both. Ah well, this is a sweet tune and the snooker analogy does nothing for a track that could be totally at home on the Justified soundtrack. Probably playing whilst US Marshall Raylan Givens shoots someone with a tattoo. ALTERNATIVE DOWNLOAD LINK AVAILABLE ON SOUNDCLOUD/IN TRACK DESCRIPTION/OR >>HERE
Scour Records superhero B.Visible returns! The man who constantly cranks out fresh sounding, quirky beats. This B.Visible slice is no different, utterly charming, odd and refreshing. Standing out from a pack of testosteroned high school jocks (I don’t know what that actually means – jockeys? It can’t literally mean Jock strap wearers surely?) like a pale skinned delicate nerd hero who we all know will beat the bullies and get the girl in the end :enter about 40 movie titles here: Or he’ll go all Glee, who knows?! He’s aces though! 90bpm ▼
Before we welcome Nerub to The Scour, i’ll need those of you that can to remove your trousers, draw the curtains and get the scented candles out. Yes friends, it’s the erection section! Let all your bits hang free and have blood drawn into them through whatever means floats your boat. Whilst I have a love of all things brassy and stabby and therefore a natural hatred of all things brassy and Kenny G-ee, I don’t care that this steps close the the Gee man, not when it’s so very classy and beautiful. If AIR did a Daft Punk, expect this to be on the album somewhere. ALTERNATIVE DOWNLOAD LINK REQUESTED/AVAILABLE ON SOUNDCLOUD/IN TRACK DESCRIPTION. 92bpm ▼
Keeping to the love theme and another warm Scour virgin welcome to Soleance! It’s like the start of an early eighties soft porn sex romp comedy with horrific innuendos and racy puns…..wait, that is what it’s like every week! Carry on up The Scour! Good Job then that Souleance keeps it stone cold funky with a reworking of Brenda Russell’s A Little Bit Of Love. Not a Porkies in sight! 92bpm ▼
SCOUR #91 EXCLUSIVE #2: Bring out your dead! Del Gazeebo‘s back! And he goes full Monty with a proper tasty mash of The Cure, who, along with Prince, holds godlike status as one of mine and Spinforth’s very favourite of artists. I led a troubled youth, a ginger kid who loved Goth music and dressed like he was in Miami Vice. I’ve since been to Miami and now know it is no friend to either the ginger or the goth! Who’d have thought ODB would sit so smoothly with Robert Smith, the man who invented putting on lipstick like you were in heavy turbulence or were auditioning for Batman’s arch nemesis. Del knows both his onions and his eggs and serves up the best Scour exclusive onion/egg surprise you will have ever tasted! Get involved in your copy of this gem via this very kindly donated >>100% SCOUR EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD LINK RIGHT HERE
SCOUR #91 EXCLUSIVE #3: Bruce ‘Good Game, Good Game’ Missile continues to bring all the girls to the yard. Yep, you guessed it, it’s his bloody milkshakes. I’ve watched him through his kitchen window, I’ve gone through his bins, I’ve slept in his bed when he’s gone to the yard and danced around his front room in his underwear but I still can’t find his secret milkshake ingredient! Short of threatening to kill his cows (..I never would!) or inventing the Jimmy Choo Milkshake i’m at my wits-end. Bruce don’t care, he’s there in the yard, completely oblivious of my milk plots, covered in all the girls and all the milkshakes and all the wicked mashups! Silent salute to you Sir! Grab your 3rd (of 4) kindly donated >>100% SCOUR EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD LINK RIGHT HERE
Switching our bitter focus from Bruce’s milky German boobs to New Zealand’s Sample Gee. I wonder how many reworks of Eric B & Rakim we’ve featured in The Scour over the years? Probably loads, none more cleverer than this moody beast. If Baloo was the jaunty prickly-pear bear from Jungle Book, this is very definately Barry, Baloo’s alcoholic, monosyllabic brother who lives in a trailer in the woods, owns a gun, drives a harley with ‘I hate fancy ants AND buzzing bees’ sticker and drinks whiskey malibu chasers all day. Big Bad Barry – Jungle Boogie! 99bpm ▼
Oh hey Stylust Beats and Wick-It the Instigator! You’re probably aware by now that Wick-It holds a special place in our hearts, we rarely let one of his releases slide past your discerning ears. Not everyone’s cup of earl grey we know, but always good value. Like a bag of tangy haribo x DOWNLOAD LINK AVAILABLE ON SOUNDCLOUD/IN TRACK DESCRIPTION. 97bpm ▼
Welcome to The Scour Orphic Official! (The unofficial Orphic can absolutely do one!). More wonk than a chocolate willy factory. Fact! Reckon you’ll like this one, if you do be sure to have a little listen to his Stevie Wonder Higher Ground edit, reckon you’ll find that tidy darts too. 98bpm ▼
Easy now! Strap yourselves in and prepare for possible nosebleeds! Twelve tracks in and we’re just about to break the 100bpm mark – this might be the gentlest of Scour’s ever! Well don’t worry, I wasn’t joking when I said strap yourselves in. We’d like to welcome and generally turn you right on to the sounds of Beat Fatigue (..remember that name!). Utterly infunkincredible blues wobble that will have you squealing like piggies, reaching for the moonshine and praying to the Lordy Lord above! Bad luck and trouble? We don’t think so. 100bpm ▼
I love to swing! I hate swings! I hated the park as a child, dangerous things, we all just used to push each other to the point of falling off the swings at high speed, same with the roundabout, and I get filled with a cold dread at the memory of the slide after the time I carved ‘Gail Stamford’ in a love heart and felt guilty for weeks over my criminal act of petty vandalism, never mind that it was driven by the pure unrequited love an eight year old ginger boy with freckles had for the Gail ‘the county swimming champion’ Stamford. I understood even then what unrequited meant even before I knew the word. She was a sleek otter though and you would have all carved her name into the underside of the slide if you knew her! Anyway, pardon me The Jenova Collective! There’s something about swing when it comes at you at 100bpm that just grabs you by the nuts (or nutletttes) and makes you want to dance like you were in Fat Sam’s speakeasy! :custard machine gun: 100bpm ▼
Talking of custard machine guns, bring with, you’ll need them again here! DJ Snatch delivers the prohibition funk with a kinky retake of Tutti Frutti. Fun, good times, and possibly the funkiest guitar lick in the world. If you owned a pony and you left him in the stables for the weekend with this tune on repeat you’d get back on Monday to find him covered in glitter and ribbons, possibly covered in pink body paint, in essence trying to become a real ‘my little pony’. It could even be where
started out. 100bpm ▼
Kind of feel a bit bad as this has been my shower song all week. Yup, I’ve been rubbing and scrubbing my bits to this since I downloaded it. Step back Ladies! Not only has Sammy Senior bought this tune out as a thank you to his 3000 soundcloud followers, he also has his very own Ghetto Funk 4 track EP out this very day! For Free! Yowzers! 105bpm ▼
Dusty Tonez has a new EP out and guess what? yeah you got it, it’s proper dance floor gold. To celebrate the latest release he’s even gone and thrown open his Daft Punk Remix of Doin It Right for our pleasure! Am I an idiot? Only now have I realised that Daft Punk have never shown their faces. I just thought they were like a French motorbike and sidecar racing team, that’s a job for me btw, being ballast. If anyone needs a ladder held steady or summat, give me a shout x ALTERNATIVE DOWNLOAD LINK REQUESTED/AVAILABLE ON SOUNDCLOUD/IN TRACK DESCRIPTION. 106bpm ▼
Welcome to RaBo & SnoB! Cracking way to make an entrance. Kicked our doors in, fired their guns in the air, shaved our cats, tattooed our goldfish and are now taking their motorbikes apart in our front room! Me and Spinforth are cowering in the bath like lilly livered lady folk waiting for them to go and buy more grease for their quiffs. Let us know when they leave – thankyouplease! New Zealand’s (..oh for Godsake, please will someone based in New Zealand book him and Lady Spinforth for a tour? Sometime’s it’s like we work for the New Zealand tourist board!) Dj Alias free’s up this strolling funk beast, more swagger than a badger with a stealth technology bodysuit and a sniper rifle (and thumbs) (and the correct training). Addendum: James Evans – ‘Fingers crossed that works..gagging for a Christmas holiday!’ Dave Raybould – ‘If it does i’ll actually fully expect a postcard!’ 112bpm ▼
Aleksey! love what you’ve done here! What did I need right now? Along with my cappuccino and cigarillo? Gil Scott Heron is what I needed! I didn’t even know it. With added T-Connection to boot! Shake it like you want it! Nobody puts Fat Harry in the corner! These are just two of the things going through my mind as I bogle back and forth across my desk in my wheeled office chair (not a wheelchair, i’m not ironside) Oh, what am I doing now? I’m seductively rolling you a cigarette across my inner thigh, pretend it’s the finest leaf tobacco, not Cutters Choice, oh and pretend that I wax my inner thigh and that it’s not a matt of sexy gingerness (which, ironically is where Cutters Choice is harvested from in the first place) Thanks to Hubbz for the work out and the dreams of sex, big cars and rum! 120bpm ▼
SCOUR #91 EXCLUSIVE #4: Sweet Jebus! Those pesky fellas Restless Leg Syndrome are killing me! I’m belly dancing my office chair to literally pieces! I’m stealing their blurb for this: “In the case of their second EP “Dabkeh” (**OUT NOW** and available >>HERE100% SCOUR EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD LINK RIGHT HERE
If jungle or D&B is your thing Jinx In Dub will need no introduction from us, you’ll be all over him like dancing ants in pants. Should by any chance you be unacquainted then please take this opportunity to have a look at his wares – this tune is massive, we know because we heard it justabouteverywhere over the summer – it’s what the word anthem was invented for and i’ve never heard a noise that so aptly defines the wob wob’s as on Liquid Stranger. Utterly butterly! 165bpm ▼
I’ve never been too sure when it stops being drum and bass and starts being Jungle, maybe it’s the massive amounts of humidity? The monkeys? Perhaps it doesn’t matter? All I really know is when a tune gives me a big grin and this is one of them! Ricky Tuff delivers the musical fire! Literally! 175bpm ▼
Where was this tune earlier when I was full of innuendo sauce and fully flowing double entendre juice?! I would have had a field day with ‘You Can Ring My Bell’ Unfortunately, like the last soft breaths of a hurricane i’m a spent force by the time we get to the Curveball. I will have been sat at this desk for 6 hours and thinking purely about how many hours of sleep are left before ‘work work’ comes a knocking. However, this is X-Ray Ted we’re talking about, Scour Records Hero and our very own bona fide ‘Saucy Jackadore’! So, just for you Ted. I reckon she’s talking about her G-Spot and possibly reaching an orgasm and likely offering the chance to do those things to you! Like Batman, myjobisdonehere – see you next Scour hombres! 125bpm ▼

SAMMY SENIOR’S MIXTAPE DIG #36
Sup ya’ll! Hope everyone had a wicked weekend and is started to get ramped up to do it all over again.. it is hump day after all! So if you were getting amongst the festival scene in the UK this summer you might have stumbled apon the Dance Off Crew.. especially considering there was a Ghetto Funk take over at some point! Anyway.. my point is, I’ve got a mixtape for you from those brilliant lads behind all that magic! If you don’t know what the hell i’m taking about, I suggest you have a little read of this interview I did with Luke Kb so you know what to look for next time.
SAMMY: So first off there are two of you guys, tell us a bit about yourselves and what you do/play.
LUKE: We are Luke (kb) & Dave (Airayd), two really close friends from Bristol in the southwest. We are 2/3 of the musical force behind the Dance-Off Crew, if you’ve been hitting the fields this summer you might of witnessed us up to no good on our stage, some of you might of also seen the ghetto funk takeover that we hosted on our stage at Secret Garden party, absolutely bonkers!
We play anything and everything that fits the night and who’s out there dancing, everything apart from psy-trance or gabba, we try to save that for our downtime.
SAMMY: Sounds like madness! Do you always DJ as a team or do you play solo as well? Where can we usually find you playing?
LUKE: We always try and play together or with our other compadre Dj Pythagasaurus, whether it’s recording the mixtapes or playing out to the crowds, it’s how we’ve moulded our sound as dj’s. Spinning off of each other, having a laugh, whatever the genre. it makes it fun in a world of dj’s who take themselves far too seriously
Festival season is drawing to a close this year but we are at a handful of the U.K events in the summer months, failing that you can find us lurking around bristol most weekends, playing wherever we can get on the decks.
SAMMY: Brilliant, thats how it should be.. having a laugh and playing tunes!! speaking of which can you tell us more about the Dance off Stage?
You need to see it to believe it, that’s the best bit of advice i could give you about the Dance-Off haha. Expect anything and everything but it’s most importantly all about the dancing, music appreciation and the crowd participation. We pair friends or foes against each other in a three round fashion, where any moves go.
You can choose Beats (varied styles of bass heavy music) or Junk (funk, soul, disco, 90′s cheese, air guitar) and dance till you drop. We try to play the most varied amount of music we can, bringing in close friends and other allies when we need to step it up just that bit further. We have a few Dance-off events coming up so if your curious, be sure to check www.facebook.com/thedanceoffcrew to get all the info on your friendly neighbourhood boxing ring.
SAMMY: I have seen it in action myself at boomtown and it was nothing short of a great time! This mix has a huge range of genre’s which is also great! Is this what we could expect from you at a usual gig?
LUKE: YES! We love chucking absolutely everything in the mixer, it makes it unpredictable and spontaneous, just the way we like music.
SAMMY: Nice! What do we have coming up to look forward to from you guys?
There is a few that stand out for us, we have Brisfest first of all which is a local volunteer run festival which is brimming with homegrown Bristol goodness and then Wonka-Vision halloween where will be doing our full Dance-Off stage show. check our page for updates on our whereabouts.

SAMMY: Thanks Luke, what a pleasure being able to get this mix on the dig.. I love that it’s got a bit of everything in there and keeps the energy flowing all the way through..AND brings back memories of the Dance Off Stage. Big ups!

Spinforth’s Biweekly SoundCloud Scour 90
How do’s? And Happy Scourday™ all! Blimey those those last two weeks flew by. Guess it’s been a long while since I only left you hanging for two weeks mind, but with our UK festival season now sadly over, hopefully Scours will start getting back to the more normal and regular biweekly business for you all..probably.
So yeah, here we are once again, myself (Spinforth), and Taiwan based multi-award winning, internationally touring DJ/producer (originally from Bristol, UK). Founder of Bass Kitchen Worldwide..DJ Chamber welcoming you to Spinf…hold up, wait a second..DJ who?? This isn’t ‘normal’!? Far from it. Where the funk is Fat Harry!? Oh right yeah, I remember now, my trustee sidekick has sloped off gigging on a school night and left me in charge of blurb duty. As if I was ever going to find spare time to do that too! I considered it, for about two seconds, but then thought, hmmm…there must be someone out there willing and able to step up to and fill his massive shoes..and as if by magic, in pops a facebook message from the one and only biggest shoe wearer I know of in the world, the Scour saving legend Mr DJ Chamber! To be fair, he was actually only messaging me with a tune for consideration (..it’s ace, and would have happily Scoured it anyway bud) but then..he foolishly kindly offered if he could be of any assistance. My prayers were answered, the first EVER special guest Scour blurber outside of the HKPP crew camp was snared very warmly welcomed! I’ve no doubt whatsoever he’s massively regretting typing the words ‘let me know if you need help with getting it done, if i can step up and lend a hand someway i will‘ but, I honestly can’t thank him enough for doing so. I was stressing out big time about getting this latest Scour job done until that moment. You’re a true gent dude, now all I need to do is help you hit YOUR 10,000th Facebook Fan Page liking >>CLICK RIGHT HERE
Right, so that’s easily enough of an main intro already I reckon. Mostly all bloggledegook, but looks impressive..better than some of my more recent copouts anyway. I’m sure there’s something else I need to be saying before we head down below though. Oh yes..just a quick little HUUUUUUUMONGOUS and sincerest of thank YOU’s going out to all whom have treated their crates to a copy of ‘Scoured Cream Vol.03′ over this past week. Of course i had faith in the featured Scour Superstars and their awesome tunes, as well as secret high hopes that it might just about be rad enough to win us a hat rick of Juno Download #1′s. Wasn’t counting any chickens though, so when it reached that incredible height, across ALL genres no less, at precisely 01:00hrs last Friday night/Sunday morning..I yelped a little, and very speedily proceeded to get even more pissed than I was already! You beauties..such a treat to see several months of hard work from all the artists involved (..as well as one or two hours put in here and there by myself) rewarded with a third number one best seller in a row. Incredible. Anyone still reading this wondering what all the thankful excitement is about, here comes a little treat for you all. EXCLUSIVE World Premiere of WBBL‘s Juno chart smashing ‘FIYAH!’ anyone? Take a seat..no canoodling at the back please, now enjoy this veritable visual feast of an accompanying video, courtesy of the absolute dude of dude of a duuuude, whom goes by the name of Amp’l Beats.
Release date: **OUT NOW**
That really is waaay more than enough from me now, time to serve up my 90th (crikey..getting close to 100! I wonder whom might be interested in getting involved in that then??) mixed bag of Scoured goods, by handing you all over to my very very special guest, please give him the warmest of Scour welcomes..here cometh Sir Chamber the 90th Scour saviour!
Scour lover thumbers at the ready, aaaaand…
Enjoy! x

Big thanks for letting Spinforth down Harry
..these rather large shoes you left me fit just perfectly! It’s an honour and a privilege to be invited to be the first ever guest Scour blurber (or ‘blurbist’? ‘blurbster’? ‘blurbette’? ) outside of the Hong Kong Ping Pong crew. “Sup” SoundCloud playaz! While Spinforth is off foraging for bassnuts in the woodlands of life, and Fat Harry is getting high on bath salts or something, I’ve been left in charge. They say the pen is mightier than the sword. I say watch out because I’m about to repeatedly slap you in the face with my laptop keys. Hold on to your sideways turned baseball caps everybody because shizz is about to get real. We’re going deep people – balls deep! Ready? Set? Let’s Scouuuur!!
Mr NOG crosses a bunch of cool genres together to create something original, awesome and as far as I can tell, entirely un-Star Wars related. Soulful yet banging! Jumbo-ups to NOG for this one, doper than a failed international sporting event urine test. 89bpm ▼
Lushiously delectable chilled out hip-hoppy vibes from Canadian Scourgin™ (Scour virgin) turntablist and producer, RileyJ. Welcome to the Scour Mr J. I hope losing your Scour virginity to my words isn’t too painful. Congratulations on creating a tune which is marginally more relaxing than getting head from a sexy toothless beauty. Nice work Sammy Senior, high five! This is what Sammy calls ‘Sunday morning Hip-Hop’. I’m usually far too asleep, hungover or drunk to consciously experience Sunday mornings, so its a crying shame to suddenly find out that I’m missing out on a bunch of tunes which sound as sweet as this. 90bpm ▼
Here’s a big melodic boom bap mashup from New Zealander Temple of Boon that is definitely posessing something sweet. ‘How many MCs must get dissed?’ Its a question which has been troubling scholars since it was first asked in 1993. Sadly, we are still no closer to an answer with expert opinions on the subject varying wildly. 95bpm ▼
Sam Redmore has ‘worked it’ extremely well with this tropical mashup. I have little to no knowledge of Latino music – I guess this is samba or salsa or rhumba or something… It’s definitely good though, that much I can say for certain. Ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-taaaa. 96bpm ▼
I will be writing this in the style of the Beastie BOYS! That’s why I’m shouting the last word of every SENTENCE! The interestingly/intriguingly named Yuanan “J.A.R” has put some tasty dub vibes under the Beasties vocals which work surprisingly WELL! When is a phat remix not a phat REMIX? When it’s a “J.A.R.” MASHUP. ALTERNATIVE DOWNLOAD LINK REQUESTED/AVAILABLE ON SOUNDCLOUD/IN TRACK DESCRIPTION. 95bpm ▼
Wilkommen to the Scour Mr per.du (another Scourgin™) – WARNING: This mashup is serious, it may or may not make you delerious. Bladdy nice this one – Busta’s gone all light and twinkly – I never thought I’d see the day (although, actually, he did release a Christmas tune duetting with Justin Bieber a while back – Seriously, Google it, you’ll vomit in your own mouth)… 95bpm ▼
DJ Chamber!? Never heard of him! Oh wow, I don’t know what to say, I really didn’t expect this, haven’t prepared anything, speechless really. Mr Spinforth has scoured my new remix! This is a little awkward – What I will say is this – this is probably the single greatest digitized audio recording which has ever been created. Somewhere between Glitch-Hop and Hip-Hop, I have invented a new style which I’ve coined ‘Glip-Hop’ (TM). Glip-Hop WILL be the next big thing, just you wait and see… 94bpm ▼
Whooooo’s that? Its Mr Showtime – Tom Showtime! This is a lovely little mash of Charlie the magical talking tunafish and Mr Manuva over a KMD beat which does exactly as it says on the tin and Kauses Much Damage! Any tune that mentions Van Goughs missing ear and a spandex pants leg is aaaalright with me. If you like this one then keep checking up over at Tom’s Soundcloud Page as he’s giving away a tune a week for the next few weeks. 96bpm ▼
MEGA LOVE for this one!!! In a word – ‘Gospelicious’. In 5 more words and a letter, Alific and Bishop D are awesome – To add a further 40 words to the mix – If you are digging this, you will want to check out Alific’s forthcoming LP – ECHOES FROM THE SOUL, which will be released very soon (September 10th). If you are not digging this, there might well be something wrong with your ears. 100bpm ▼
When’s the last time you heard a funky diabetic? Its a question which has been troubling scholars since it was first asked in 1993. A warm welcome to The Scour to Canadian beatmaster and Scourgin™ – DJ Pump! A dark and dirty, almost unhygenic remix with an unexpected switch up two thirds of the way through – Perfect to shake the walls of underground basement clubs all around the world. Oh my gawwwd! I give it three thumbs up. 98bpm ▼
This tune packs a Mohammed Ali style punch directly to the testicles – in a good way. What I’m trying to say is that its powerful. With what I can only describe as a bassline phatter than an ogres chode, Scourgin™ KUI. is kicking some major arse on this one. Certainly going in my cd wallet. Merci beauKUI! 100bpm ▼
Noice! Timothy ‘Timaaaay’ Wisdom has gone done an audio beauty here! Paradoxically speaking, this sounds like what I imagine retro will sound like in the future. Earplugs… where we’re going we don’t need earplugs! Once this baby hits 88 beats per minute, you’re gunna hear some serious shi… 101bpm
Proper head bobbing vibes from Shåkasøünd on this one. More chilled than the contents of a fully stocked Smeg (teehee) fridge/freezer unit… Anyway, sit back, relax, pop your feet up and prepare to be washed over by a calm ocean of funk and rhymes – don’t listen too closely to the lyrics though as they are a little bit ‘real’. 102bpm ▼
Bouncy goodness from the ingeniously named Stabfinger & K.D.S Welcome to the Scour you pair of massive Scourgins™. This French duo blend together a little of this, a little of that, a little of Afrika Bambaata, a little of De La Soul and a little of Joseph Julian Gonzales for good measure to make this chunky groove. Tres bon mes amis! 100bpm ▼
Check it out – It’s that (possibly) Brazillian tune that everyone knows and likes but noone outside of Brazil (or its probably fairly nearby country of origin) quite knows the name of or words to – Great job on the remix duty from The Spank!! You da Mendez! Really nice switches between the traditional (hopefully) Brazillian bits and trap! 105bpm ▼
GhettoFunktastic take on the White Stripes classic ‘Seven Nation Army’! This isn’t the work of any old DJ, this is SOME DJ motherlovers! If you like this, be sure to check out his recently released first ever vinyl record (available >>HERE
Bravo Scoured Cream Vol.03 Superstars Warp9 – Warps 1 to 8 had nothing on you sir. You may very well have created the single funkiest tune since funk records began. Get your glittery flares, afro wigs and star shaped sunglasses ready for this one – BowWowWow is so fly it suffers from intermittent bouts of altitude sickness… 106bpm ▼
LabRat & Jamburglar (which might be the best producer name of all time) have created a sickness so ill that it has already killed several listeners – What I’m trying to say is that I like it and its very good. To quote ‘William Alexander Dyer’ (from the Soundcloud comments of this tune): “nice one boys” – To which ‘Nicklas_Washing’, thoughtfully adds “Biu biu biu”. Right on the money as ever Nicklas! 108bpm ▼
SCOUR #90 EXCLUSIVE: Hang about, Spinforth explicitly informed me there were no exclusives this week!? Ahh..I see, it’s from another Scour Superstar, I guess we’ll allow this behaviour from the boss! Father Funk‘s funky fertility is positively oozing from every pore with this remix – somebody fetch a mop… Wobbly wub-wub awesomeness throughout this retardedly good remix! Bonus points for including minimal Fergie in this edit – Very nice work! Get involved with your very kindly donated >>SCOUR EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD LINK RIGHT HERE
This ones hot like mustard! If you don’t know how to spell the word ‘BEAT’, this tune should help. Good work, T.Rice. This one is almost as old skool as Adam and Eve. Early 80s disco breaks never sounded so fresh. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me T.Rice, shame on me… 115bpm ▼
Absolutely love this! Welcome to the Scour for the first time ever Funk Monks’ Mr Lev Melvin aka:Whiteboy Funk. If this one doesn’t send you into a frenzied spasm of twerks and booty shaking then you may well be paralyzed from the midriff down. Slappa de bass! 115bpm ▼
This ones bouncier than a spacehopper filled with laughing gas. Australian badman Dastardly Kuts aka ‘Dick Dastardly and Kutley’ (..not really, I just made that up) has made a right good mashup here – Blending Breakbot and all round Scour Superstar WBBL with the not so docile tones of the Ying Yang Twins and Bubba Sparxxx. Marvellous! 116bpm ▼
Doug ‘D*Funk‘ Masters has dropped another badboy choon ladies and gents! Bang Bang Love sounds like something I may or may not have experienced on my recent Thailand tour. Chunky beats and a great bassline make this tune go bang bang. Clinically obese-ups to you on this one Mr *Funk. 117bpm ▼
Awwwwwww yeaaaaaaah!!! This little number is rather wonderful, a bootleg of two classics which winds up being more uplifting and positive than [SPOILER ALERT] the ending of every Disney movie ever made. I struggled to type the description for this tune as some guy kept telling me to put my hands up as I listened to it. Grand job Tom Drummond, just grand! 116bpm ▼
Oh shnap! I have a new favorite version/mega mashup of Gravel Pit. This ones got trumpets and stuff – Proper cool! Extra large-ups to Beat Frenetics‘ Michael ‘Lene on me, when you’re not strong’ Lener! Nipple hardening stuff. Ever wondered what the gravel pit they refer to actually is? I did, so I Googled it – turns out shes talking about her vagina. Yikes! 125bpm ▼
THIS. IS. DOPE! Quite literally music to my ears. Muchos respectiatos to Joe Revell for cooking up this phat little broken beat beast of a remix. If you are wondering how you can get yourself high, theres a few methods I’ve found work well. Spinning around for a while usually does the job. If thats not your cup of tea, you could try holding your breath for a bit (but not too long). If thats too hardcore for ya, sometimes standing up quickly can provide quite the headrush! 125bpm ▼
This choon packs ‘oodles’ of floor shaking sub – Proper space dub vibes – And then just when you least expect it, it hits you with a tasty double time breakbeat. Thaswhaimtalkinbout! Pant-creamingly good, nice work Indidginus! Now where did I put my ‘erb… oh, good god, stood up too quick!
140bpm ▼
I thought you could only love a tune in fairly tales… Then I heard its bass, now I’m a believer. Without a trace, of doubt in my mind that its going in my crate. I’m in love with this remix… Great job DJ Snatch you cheeky little Monkee. Tastier than a double pack of Tesco’s delicious egg custard tarts made with double cream and sprinkled with nutmeg. ALTERNATIVE DOWNLOAD LINK REQUESTED/AVAILABLE ON SOUNDCLOUD/IN TRACK DESCRIPTION. 162bpm ▼
And finally we arrive at this weeks Curveball. I actually have a friend who has suffered from a curved ball ever since he sat down too fast on a hard Ikea chair named Ivar in 2004. He was never quite the same after the incident, both testicularly speaking and in general – It certainly didn’t help his confidence that people started calling him ‘flatpack bollocks’ and ‘Ikea meatball’. Anyway, enough about my scrotally lopsided buddy, lets talk about the final tune of today’s Scour. Well basically its really groovy and stuff so get it and that yeh?! WARNING: If you suffer from kaleidoscope eyes as a result of listening to this tune, we recommend you consult a medical professional ASAP. Big love Rhythm Scholar! And that’s me, your guest blurb writing host DJ Chamber, all done and completely and utterly Scoured out! 93bpm ▼
