Back in 2013, Metalheadz, brought us a smash hit from Drum n Bass producers, ArpXP & Reza, with their track ‘When You Gone’. Now 2016 has rolled around, ArpXP figured the original was due a spruce up and duly went about giving it the mother of all edits. Time to lay down praise for the classic Amen Break in this hugely atmospheric re-fix from ArpXP. Hold on tight, it’s a biggie!

We’ve managed to bring you a few combo posts featuring a mix and EP / single track of late and we’ve got another one for you right here. Rico Tubbs is the one providing us with all the music this time around. He’s got the bass cannons firing with a new mix and two new tracks in a collaboration with, AMPR with there’s remixes in tow and are out now on, Bass=Win.

From the off we have Vol.3 of, Rico’s ‘Bass House’ mix series. Just like the two gone before, this is mix delivers just a snippet of incredible talent in the Bass House scene and their super fresh new tunes. Some of these tracks you can get now and some are on the way very soon. An essential fifty minute listen if you just love to have your rib cage tickled by wave after wave of filthy basslines!

As mentioned above, Rico has teamed up with his Finnish compadre, AMPR on two new tracks ‘Big Bad Tune’, a highly charged jackin’ Bass House track and ‘Red Sun’, a track that’s so fierce you may just need a change of underwear after a listen! Both of these tracks get the remix treatment with ‘Big Bad Tune’ getting covered by, Matt Craig and Topi and ‘Red Sun’ by Teknian & ZeroZero and 1point5. All of these guys bring their very best bass games to the table with remixes just as heavy as the originals. Six expertly executed tracks!

After blasting into 2016 with the start of his ‘Thrift Shop Bangers‘ series, the thrusters are still burning strong as he brings us this brand spanker of a mix. ‘Boom!’ has been something of a labour of love as he wanted to get this one bang on, not only in track selection but also making sure a strong energy maintained throughout and it’s clear for all to hear that the hard work has paid off, in a big way! We’re hitting you with a three year old D n B remix for this weeks #TBT and if I hadn’t of mentioned it’s age, you’d never know the difference such is it’s quality. It comes from a UK producer who goes by the name of, JustinJay, who we’ve not managed to track down much info for, but if you love D n B, especially on a Liquid tip then he’s one dude well worth checking out.

The track of, Justin’s we have for you is a remix of ‘Inside My Love’, by Delilah. The intro takes off at an easy going pace and builds gently until after a short breakdown your met by the good vibrations of a wave of wobbly, sub lovin’ bass. Delilah’s already stunning vocal is given a touch of echo just to ramp up the atmospherics that little bit more. Another hidden gem uncovered, happy days!

Fion- Fires (Black Girl / White Girl Remix) [Soundspace]

You’re always guaranteed more bounce by the ounce from, Father Funk and this remix, his first release of 2016 hits the spot when it comes to wanting to take part in a little gravity defiance. The remix is of ‘Life’ a track off, Opiuo‘s cracking album ‘Meracki‘. It was due to be entered in a remix competition, Westwood Recordings was running, but at the time some personnel stuff kicked off and it never got finished in time. After a listen though, it will become quite apparent that had it been entered, it would have been challenging for top spot for sure! Ghetto Funk, Father Funk style, top marks from our end!
