I’m not quite sure how I’ve managed to miss the incredible music made by Greek producer, George Kelly, especially as his music is heavily flavoured with Funk and Disco of the midtempo variety. His 3 track EP ‘Satisfaction Express‘ was my first encounter with the sounds he produces and this funk train satisfies on every single level! For the discerning funk lover, these 3 funk weapons are absolute must haves!

George doesn’t just spend his time making top quality tunes as he runs two labels, Chopshop Music and Our Records, that are both stacked with a bountiful supply of Funk and Disco tunes. Jayphies-Groove is a producer, songwriter, singer and DJ who bases himself in both Germany and the Dominican Republic. On the production side of things, he is one that loves putting his own spin on classics. He currently has just under 400 pieces of work on his Soundcloud page which definitely need checking through, but before you do, get a feel of what he’s all about with his stunning take on High Inergy‘s ‘Come And Get It’. He’s all about the groove and you can be sure that whenever you’re listening to his music, you’ll be getting more than your fair share of that!

Deekline and Wizard cemented themselves in Breakbeat folklore. Known for their Booty Breaks from back in the day they were a force to be reckoned with releasing a full album called “Breaks, Beats and Blondes” on Botchit & Scarper Records in 2004. Another one in 2009 and 2 mix compilations. Unfortunately they both parted ways but Deekline has kept producing music and travelling the world DJing till this day.

Aquasky dropped 3 mixes for February this year the first 2 are Breaks mixes and this the third a Drum & Bass mix of bangers from 2016/2017 (check the tracklist). No secret squirrel in this mix, recorded the usual way… 2 technics turntables, 1 rane ttm56 mixer, 2 novation dicers, macbook pro, serato sl3 and 2 shure whitelabel needles. No pre-timing of tunes, all done live on the decks. I really must be showing my age, this strictly all vinyl mix contains some rare gems from the early 90’s and beyond most of which i danced my ass off too at various raves and nightclubs in the early 1990’s.
