DJP is known to many as one of the key players in the funky breaks scene, as well as an Audio Visual DJ like no other. With early releases through Goodgroove Records, Bombstrikes, Breakbeat Paradise and later on Ghetto Funk DJP (the man with big glasses) knows how to rock a party. This mix from 2009 was part of a Goodgroove Records promotional item.

Back in the early 2000’s Fort Knox Five and Ursula 1000 joined forces to become the act FK 1000 an outfit that created many a bootleg party jam which can be heard in this old mix i had laying around on my hard drive. Fortunately i found a tracklist via the good old interwebs and as you can see each track is a FK 1000 tune. I forgot to put a date when i downloaded it but by all accounts this mix is from March 2006, hope you dig the funk.

Goodgroove Records made a name for themselves in the mid 2000’s with the rise of the mid tempo funky scene called Nufunk. Collecting a roster of top new talent including Featurecast, DJ P, the Breakbeat Junkie and Basement Freaks to name a few. This mix from around 2009 is by the man who started the label Slim Goodgroove and is a selection of tracks that represented the sound of the label at that time.

Back with those Block Rockin Breaks & Beats DJ Nysus hits the Soundcloud airwaves with his recorded set from Summer Jam. Included in the mix are some of his favorite tracks from Summer and beyond, lots of Booty Breaks and nightclub bangers.

To be honest i haven’t heard a DJ mix from Hyper since the late 2000’s, so my mind was a little bit blown away when Ayra Recordings put up a new Hyper mix through their Soundcloud. I know recently Hyper had a 2 part EP through Ayra Recordings but this mix is something completely different, more of a soundscape of music inspired by the use of Hyper’s music in a computer video game called “Cyperpunk 2077”. I know your going to dig this !

80 minutes worth of Glitch Hop, Ghetto Funk & Breaks is what this mix is all about. Skank Honto reaches into the outer atmosphere with this delightful mix called Space Funk. Staring the set off at a slower tempo and including a few new tracks from himself Skank Honto finishes off the mix in true breakbeat flavour.

With over 2 decades experience as a DJ and Producer Deekline has cemented himself in Breakbeat folklore with a huge back catalogue of music and mixes that can be heard and seen all over the interwebs. With early collaborations with his sidekick and friend Wizard releasing a full album called “Breaks, Beats and Blondes” on Botchit & Scarper Records in 2004. Another one in 2009 and 2 mix compilations.

Nowadays with tracks such as Got to Believe, Deepa and jungle anthem Good to Have the Feelin, with the legendary Tippa Irie, have picked up play and support from DJs such as MistaJam and Annie Mac, on Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Deekline is still doing the EDM business to this day, touring, making music and taking care of the label Hot Cakes.

Adam Mills aka A.Skillz is a legendary musical artist hailing from the United Kingdom. Capable of rocking every party that he DJs at, A.Skillz has the unique ability to mix every kind of genre of music LIVE and get the dance floor moving. This Funk loving individual has seen him appear at big and small stages on every 4 corners of the globe.

His label Jam City has released, alongside his own work, tracks from the likes of DJ Yoda, Doorly, the Cuban Brothers, Afrika Bambaataa, Jungle Brothers, Nightmares on Wax, Mica Paris to name a few, whilst his productions have seem him collaborate with a selection of some of the industry’s finest names including; Kurtis Blow, Dr Luke, Nasa, Krafty Kuts, DJ Numark, Beardyman, Nick Thayer and Z trip.
